I know when a baby is constipated 2 teaspoons of brown sugar in its bottle do the trick. But I do not know about the sugar for adults. I mean I drink coffee with 3 spoons of sugar and my tummy does not start to run, even coca cola has like 10 teaspoons of sugar in and that is not a laxative. The best thing is Epsom's salts, 1 teaspoon in 250 ml of luke warm water, That will definitely start things going.

Kiwi fruit is a great natural laxative. It has been studied to help people have more bowel movements each week, increase the transit time of food through your colon, and increase satisfaction with your bowel movements. Try 1 in the morning after breakfast and 1 at night after dinner. If that doesn't work, you can increase to 3 per day.

She's right, the best alternative to a chemical laxitive is prune juice and quite a lot to really get you going. Be warned not to use it when you have plans. Make sure you're going to stay at home all day.
Second, homemade isn't always the best option.

soak 20 currants in one cup (200 ml) simple water for 24 hours. eat all 20 one by one chewing well to pulp and then drink that one cup currants water. do this in the morning without eating anything before and half an hour after. repeat three days. your constipation will start going.

Nope, that'd just give a sugar rush and perhaps a stomach ache. Foods that have special recognition as laxatives include almonds, apricots (dried), avocados, chicory, coconut, dandelion (yes get out in your garden and eat those dandelion leaves, so long as they have no chemicals on them!), dates, endive, figs, flaxseed, grapes, mango's, olive, papayas, parsley, persimmons, pineapple, prunes, rhubarb, soybeans, turnips, walnuts and watercress.

I'm not sure with that one! But I do know that if you have a couple of tablespoons of prune juice a day, the next day you'll do the four minute mile to the dunny! lol.
