My online friend, a 15 year old female (I'm 16) has been struggling with depression for a long time. She has recently been released from a mental health facility in Canada. In the last few days she has been telling me about her plan to end her life tomorrow night. I don't have her full name or number at home, or I would call her Mum.
She has it all planned down to the last detail, has written her note (she showed me it) and has all the equipment she needs to do it. I really think she 100% intends to do this. I've been through this with other people so I know that this is different, more serious.
I've told her how much she means to me and how much she matters and that I love her and will be there but she won't budge. Is there anything I can say? What will numb the guilt and pain of not being able to help her? I'm totally lost when usually I'm the one with all the answers. Please help.

I don't live with my parents and they were "sick of this helping people obsession" even when I did. I have my bf but he just says "she won't do it, don't worry". But I think she well. SHe only told me when I asked her why she had deleted her blog- she didn't want her parents to be shocked and hurt if they ever read it once she was gone. I really hope you're right and she doesn't. I hope she just wants attention. But I don't know.

I would immediately contact a suicide hotline and ask their advice. There is surely a way to track her by her ip address.
Continue to support and ask for her phone number, she may or may not kill herself; but this is a cry for help.
Take it seriously.

I'm not sure if I can help. Have you found out what were the major causes for her depression? Maybe, you can try to tell her that you could be the best friend for her in order that she can share her problem. Maybe, try to explain how her parents, friends and you care about about her very much. Or, maybe, try to convience her that if she could speak out the problems openly with you, the problems could he solved.
I'm not sure if this answer the question. Keep asking her about her problems. Or, maybe you could say those problems also happened to you, but you could sove the problems by telling or discussing the problems with closefriends ...
I pray and hope she could change her mind.

The Canadian police can locate her, through her email/IM details, if you phone them, but do it now!!! Don't take any notice of berleytea: depression + a plan + the means to carry it out = serious suicidal intent, and the percentages are far too high, to take a risk. What if it was your child? Act immediately!

There is an insult from friends and family. When those close to her show her how she has be an outcast all her life then depression can be too much. Your help is essential to her . God bless you for caring . We know you have suffered too. Reach out for your own self to feel loved more. You need to be loved to share love.

Have you got someone to talk to about this yourself - a parent or teacher? You could call a crisis line and ask their advice.
Like you say, you don't know her full name so there is very little you can do to stop her except for emailing and telling her what you already have.

She wants you to be worried about her she looking for attention nothing more if wanted to die she would just do it and not talk about it. TRUST ME I have friend who talk about this stuff all the time.
Now for you parents kicking you out of the house becuase you like to helping people now that is just dumb. I like to do the same thing and I drive my family crazy but they would never kick me out of the house. I would be more worried about this then your friend.
