I am a 22 yr old, active female. I am 5'8", weigh 150 pounds, and want to lose weight. I am on a calorie restricted diet. How many grams of protein should I be eating in a day?

I always thought mental illnesses like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder didn't emerge until the person was in his/her teens at the earliest. But can it manifest itself in early childhood as well?

I've been wearing contacts for a few months now, and the past 2 months have had excruciating headaches from my contacts.(i think it's from my contacts?).I keep them clean, change then every two weeks [as directed].and they are the right prescription.i dont get a headache untill i wear them for at least 5-6 hours.it seems like the headaches start because of too much sleep,too little sleep, sunlight, head, and too much tv/computer.i am 12, and this is interfearing with my life.the headaches are always on the same side of my head accompanied by pressure, nausea, and dizzyness.i also get headaches from excersise and heat. are these headaches from my contacts or something else.i need to fix this problem.its making me depressed and not in a good mood and ITS SUMMER TIME.

I heard somewhere that shaving it is hygenic, but then I heard somewhere else that it's not healthy to shave because pubic hair traps bacteria. I shaved mine off and now i'm scared because I don't want to get sick. What is true?

I am a 17 year old girl i am 5' 11''and i am overweight by 70 lbs

i am very active i run 2 miles 3 to 4 times a week i play softball on the weekends and i lift weights 3 times a week. i watch what i eat but no matter how hard i work i just cannot seem to loose weight.

i have seen doctors and they did nothing to help me they said the reason is because obesity runs in my family!

any advice would be greatly appreciated

I eat about 1750 calories a day

I recently got diagnosed with slightly high blood pressure and unfortunately am pretty young to have this issue. My primary care doctor prescribed only a water pill, instead of a highblood pressure pill. What is it about the "water pill" that lowers blood pressure? Within a week of taking the water pill my blood pressure was back to perfect. :)

I am a lifeguard in P.A. and I saved someone from drowning today, and I was wondering if they could claim they were mentaly hurt by the experience and sue me or my employer. I've been checking the P.A. laws for anything close to this, but I havn't seen much so if anyone could shed some insite, that would be awsome.

A friend of mine always passes out when she gives blood. We never really notice anything, we just wait and she wakes up. A year or so ago she cut her arm open, saw the blood and passed out. She ending up seizuring. Then today, she was giving blood at her doctors office. They took two viles, and she was okay. Then she passed out and seizured again. They had to call 911 because she stoped breathing and everything. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this. What type of seizure it could be, or why she does it? Anything would be helpful. She is okay now. But it is all very scary. Thanks.

I am currently taking 25 mg of time release paxil twice a day ( a total of 50mg daily). My depression has eased, some of the side effects are as follows:

I have gained 22 lbs since being on paxil.
I find I do not have the motivation to exercise or be as active as I used to be.
My sex drive has taken a major dive for the worse...everything is still functional, although not as alert as I am accostomed to. The biggest problem is that I just don't have the desire to have sex anymore. This is taking a major tole on my relationship. HELP!!!!!

I'm simply curious about this.

If a woman had her tubes tied but later decided that she would like to have a child, would she still have viable eggs and would doctors be able to get them? I assume not, because you'd probably have to go through the fallopian tubes to retrieve the eggs, but I thought I'd ask.

I have been experiencing what I thought was rls for about 2 years. I have taken a lot of meds that either cause me to feel like my skin is on fire or make me very ill. I have tried muscle relaxers, valium, xanax and they make it much worse. My symptoms have progressed from restlessness in my calves to shooting stabbing pain from my feet to my hips and pain and the restless feeling in both arms. I experience cramps all day long and just a general soreness while walking. I went for a sleep study last night and had to leave because I was in excruciating pain and had to come home and sit a a scalding hot bath for about an hour to get a slight amount of relief. I am getting maybe 3 hours of sleep a night which is leaving me completley exhausted as well. Although my boss understands what I am going through she pulled me into her office last week and told me that if I don't get this taken care of I may lose my job because of my lack of concentration and silly mistakes.

Alright last week I got the bunion on my right foot removed and this morning I got my stitches out and I was told I could take showers normally and my foot would be ok getting wet. I got the stitches out around 9:30 this morning and then I took a shower around 4:00. When I got in the shower my stomach immediatly started hurting. And when I put my foot down the pain was definitely intensified. After a few minutes I couldn't take it anymore, I just washed my hair and immediatly got out. I thought I was going to throw up. Then I was sitting in bed and slept for four hours.

Does anyone know why this all may have I happened? =/

No insurance.
I keep it clean and douse with peroxide. It itches like hell. I just want it to heal over so I can stop having to cover it.
I know my grandparents had natural cures for everything and when I used to get hurt, they had salves and potions that worked.

I hate myself. I have been unemployed for a year and one day and I feel so ashamed. I’m not exactly qualified for any of the jobs I really want because of my lack of formal education. The only positions that are attainable right now would be being a waitress/hostess or salesperson. I am extremely nervous around people to the point that I do not leave the house very much except for an excruciating daily run to Starbucks and Whole Foods. I cry very easily and this has happened quite a bit, especially at my last job, where I’d have a meltdown and it would deter customers from coming into the store. Sometimes I would get extremely red and flustered (especially around my boss) and then feel like I was about to have a panic attack at work. Often I could not even pinpoint what triggered it. Everyone I know hates me for not working. No one seems to understand or care how nervous I am around people, they just instantly assume I’m lazy and unmotivated. I think I might have Agoraphobia (an anxiety disorder which primarily consists of the fear of experiencing a difficult or embarrassing situation from which the sufferer cannot escape). On top of this, each passing day is a reminder that I have not been able to face my boyfriend’s parents or friends since I’ve been unemployed. When I think about this (every single day) I feel like my heart is going to explode b/c I do not see how I will ever be able to face any of them ever again. They are aware I have taken every measure possible to avoid them (even when I had a job, I felt extremely stressed around these people). Also, I have so many doubts about my bf I fear they will sense that if I am around them. I just don’t want these people to think I am “a user” because I’ve been unemployed for so long. The two anti-depressants I’ve tried so far did little to alleviate my anxious feelings. If and when I work up the nerve to go to a job interview (I understand I can not remain unemployed forever) how will I explain to future employers my long period of unemployment? How do I eventually explain going into hiding to my boyfriend’s parents and friends when I finally see them?
