Okay try not to think im stupid. But a couple of my friends went on ramen noodle diets and lost a lot of weight. I know that ramen has a lot of msg but most of it is in the flavor pockets. If I use something else to flavor it could this work?

You need lots of fresh fruits and veggies in addition to the ramen noodles but it could be used without the packets if you add fresh veggies to the noodles. You need 3 healthy meals a day and good snack between each meal.

Be careful if you do this diet, ramen noodles are 'white' wheat.

You know how they say white bread is bad since they take all the healthy stuff out and all that's left is empty carbs? Well, the same could be said for most grains, including noodles. They may help you lose weight, but you're just a day away from gaining it all back with that diet.

If you do go on it, I would recommend plenty of water, a lot of exersize to burn off those carbs, and vitamin supplements to cover the food groups you aren't eating in the meantime.

OK, you are not stupid, and you are not alone. Many people in the world are eating ramen (instant) noodles on the go, bec they are either too busy or too lazy to cook!

Yes, you can lose weight just by eating ramen noodles alone. But if you want to live longer (and healthier), add veggies into the ramen noodles while boiling it. Leave out the packet MSG, oil and what not (including the dried veggie or meat or shrimps).

Good luck to this diet! Don't forget to drink lots of water!

yep, being using top ramen noodles for approx. five years as a diet. I use the noodles and stir fry vegetables with a small portion of chicken/beef/pork sliced extra thin. Also use a small amount of Chinese stir fry sauce for flavor. Weighed 209, lost down to 158 in three months.
Breakfast = Instant breakfast with banana
Lunch = Instant breakfast with fruit & cottage cheese [2%]
Dinner = Top ramen noodles [less flavoring packet] Stir fry veggies [Usually California Mix] I Like Cauliflower and Brocculi. a small amount of meat. Saute with a small amount of virgin olive oil.
Note: also take a load of vitamins, minerals, Omega 3 fish oil. If on a diet, you must pump the vitamins. Otherwise you will starve the body of needed nutrients.

Ramen noodles are nutritionally not very good for you. They are high in carbs and fat with almost no protein. While your friends may have lost weight, it was likely muscle mass (which is bad to lose) unless they were also lifting weights.

The best way to lose weight is to follow a reduced-calorie diet and lift weights 3 times a week for about 30 minutes each time. Lifting weights raises your metabolism, keeps your muscle from disappearing while you lose fat, and can even help you gain a couple pounds of muscle. You won't get big and bulky like a body builder, it just keeps you healthy while you lose fat. Be sure to get plenty of sleep and drink a gallon of water a day.

One pound of muscle can burn between 10 and 50 calories per day! Doing aerobic exercise and no weight lifting will cause you to lose weight, but if you lose lean mass then you will probably gain the weight back in the long run (i.e. yo-yo dieters).

Its not the ramen noodles that are making them lose weight, its the fact that they are eating less calories. you could eat just about anything for a "diet" if you reduce your calories. Ramen noodles have basically no nutrional value, so if you are going to just eat that you need to take a multivitamin everyday.

I get those giant packs from Sam's Club and they don't last very long. Ramen Noodles are the sh*t.

I like Ramen noodles dry..it sounds weird but sometimes, when I am in a hurry, I will take one out of the pack and eat it on the run like a big cookie....

yeah try cheese.. like a low calorie(unsure) mac and cheese. or add a little flavor you like. I like the chicken flavor packets that come with the ramen noodles.

I don't know about that, but it will for sure put a diet on your bank account. A Ramen packet is 13 cents.
