Thank you to all who replied, but many of you decided to give me alternate advice and not actually answer my question. I don't need advice on how to lose weight, I am a personal trainer and I hold a Health Sciences degree. I asked a specific question because I'm looking to see other opinions. Preferably qualified others. Thanks.

Im the same as you, but 46.
I eat between 150 and 210 grams of protein a day.
But I'm also on a 3 on/2 off basic push-pull split (heavy) right now.

Dont worry too much about the amout of protein. Here's a bonus tip for you;Have at least 6 egg white's every day.Eat small meals 5 times a day, go for carbs that contain high fibre such as oats, wholegrains and have low glycemic index such as spinach and tomatoes.Have protein and low glycemic carbs in every meal.Eat grapefruits, pears and guava which has high amounts of vitamin c.Drink plenty of water. If you stick to this diet and workout consistently for at least a month, not only will you lose weight you skin will look awsome.Good luck!

If you want to lose weight, your plate should consist of 1/4 protein, 1/4 carbs (fruit OR grains/potatoe) and 1/2 vegetables, and no dessert. If you follow these guidelines and don't have second helpings, you won't need to count calories ( because this is what your body was made to handle.) Hope this helps!

shoot for your body weight in grams in protein. in your case, 150 grams of protein because you weigh 150 lbs. filling up on protein and cutting out fatty foods, with some regular exercise will help you cut some lbs.

At least 0.5g of protein per every pound of your body weight and not more than 1g (except for body builders). So for you that would be anywhere from 75-150g/day.
