I am 15 year old girl, 5'3, 150 pounds. I've been told that i don't look like a 150 pound girl but scales dont lie. i would like to loose 30 pounds over the summer the sooner the better. ive been running outside in the mornings( been told that running in the morning is double the workout) i run/walk/jog a mile or 2, but i just recently started. I would love any advice. :D

a yr ago i have been diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder and have been in therapy and ssri's since then.
my wife and i have been in marriage councelling roughly the same time and additionally seeing therapists and councellers. i walk on eggshells everyday (for 15yrs now). my wife left a trail of detsroyed professional and personal relationships leading back to 2 counts of rape in her early childhood. her father who has been a long standing alcoholic passed away late last year.
we tried everything from 'languages of love' which only i end up speaking, sensory integration work, only her needs are met now.
there is no intimacy, no kindness and no support from her since the conception of our daughter 2 yrs ago.
i wake up to her shouting at the kids at the breakfast table. she spends all time at work and never joins our activities.
everything points to bpd and i sit between divorce, custody battle or hoping for another 15 yrs for things to change.
this is the only love i know .....

my best friend is a depressed, suicidal cutter. and i am at a loss for what to do about him. he can't and won't go to his parents because he's terrified of mental instituions, and the school counselor didn't do anything when a couple mutual friends of ours went and talked to her about him. the only thing that did was make him not trust us anymore, so i don't know just how suicidal he's feeling. he keeps dropping hints that something might happen to him over the summer, and i am concerned. i have no idea what to do, i want to help him. all of his friends who know (my self included) have let him know just how much we care, and it just goes in one ear and out the other. he's really sensitive about these matters. he utterly flipped out when we went to the guidance counselor. he has mentioned that he would like help, but i don't know who to go to. does anyone have any ideas for what i can do for him?

First of all, I'm not allergic to the sun.
I used to joke that I'm a vampire, but I found humidity is the catalyst not the sun.
In wintertime I have no problems.

During the summer, when I am outside for any period of time, my skin becomes very itchy.
Usually this involves my face, ears, neck and arms. Basically anything exposed.
My skin doesn't change its appearance (it doesn't break-out or blister, etc). It only turns red when I start scratching it (and the itch is really overwhelming).
Also, I don't go tanning. Though I always use sun-block if the need arises. Sun-block doesn't help with relieving the amount of itchiness.

So what can I do to to stop my allergic reaction?
It really makes summer no fun for me.

which one is better? i started to do this beginners pilates video that's an hour long and it seems to be working (i can feel my abs getting tighter) but is it better than yoga? i've never done yoga before, but i have a similar beginners video for yoga too. should i do yoga, pilates, or both? which one is better?

Workouts with dumbells?
I've recently bought a set of small weights. The lightest 1.1 kg and the heaviest 4.4 kg . I need to know the best way to use them to tone/ strenthen my stomach and shoulders.( And give me extra strenth for arm wrestling lol). Diagrams or words will both be very useful. thanx

Is it something that we humans can control? or is it instinctive?

I'm a girl who has been accused of being cold and structured and I seriously don't see myself that way. I really want people to see that I do have feelings just like any other human beings.


Just goes to the show that what we think of ourselves don't match with the reality.

I need to lose 20-30 pounds over the summer for the new school year. I REALLY want to do it in a way that nobody in my family will find out about. They all think I'm skinny but I know that they are all just being nice. I can't drive so there is really no other way than a treadmill and ABlounge to exercise on. I don't really like that much healthy food but I'm willing to try anything! My mother has some diet pills, should I sneak some of them too? I'M DESPERATE!!!

I was just curious...with all the use of technology: text messaging, watching television and movies, and browsing the internet- will the human eye evolve to be stronger?

Or...

I know staring at a computer screen for hours is damaging to one's sight, so do you think the eye will get weaker and need stronger lenses and operations to correct vision?

Or do you think eyes will stay about the same?

I was just wondering since technology is becoming more dominant in most people's lives. Thanks!

I am 5' 9 1/2", weight 162, 17 years old, male, medium buid, looking for a nice girl haha jk, well all of that and I'm taking in 2400 calories a day (for any hard workout you offer). I have like 16 percent body fat.

I am active and just want to know a few tips that you know of or have used to lose weight. Mainly an estimate of calories to be burned (by exercising) running, or jump roping (things that dont cost hardly anything) I have one 20 pound dumbell, and a treadmill, and a punching bag, and a jump rope

I'm able to exercise any amount of time a day, I have time and I will do the hard work just nothing to exagerrated. Please tell me how many i should burn.

Lately I have been very unsatifastied with my body image. I must admit that I have gained a couple of pounds since last summer, for some reason my metabolism has decrease and my appetite has increased. I want to lose a couple pounds since it is the summer but I refuse to go on a diet that makes me starve myself. Okay. I just finished my sophomore year. I was always pretty skinny, not bony, but I only had a little bit of a stomach. I cheered my whole 8th grade year, but I decided not to cheer in high school. The beginning of my freshman year was fine, until it seemed like one day in about the middle of the school year, I had all of a sudden grown love handles, a bigger stomach, stretch marks on my legs, and my hips hung over my pants. I tried dieting, and my mom tried to help me..I lost a little last summer.
The thing is, I'm not fat. I know I don't eat a perfect diet, but I do try to watch what I eat...I work at a restaurant, so I choose not to eat fried food as often, and I try to drink water some nights instead of Coke. I don't over eat, and I'm conscious about what I eat. I've also begun cheerleading again, and having four hour practices..They're workouts.
I have friends that eat a pizza and fries everyday for lunch, but I'm not like that.
Any idea as to why or what could help me?
