You may not like my answer, but I'll do my best.

I think that losing 30 pounds over the summer is an unrealistic goal. You are still growing. Your whole body needs the nutrients you get from your food. Severely limiting your calories might increase your weight loss, but your body will be thrown into a state where going back to a normal diet might be more likely to put the pounds and then some back on. For some, that starts a real yo-yo. Don't do that to yourself!

It would probably be better to talk to a registered dietitian who can help you analyze what you are eating. S/he will know what your caloric needs are. She can figure in your exercise to determine what impact it has on your calorie usage.

What's important is that the dietitian can help you come up with a realistic diet that has all your nutrient and micronutrient needs built in.

There's so much more, but that is one place to start. Drink more water----make sure you are getting your eight cups a day. Plain old water works. You don't need fancy and/or expensive vitamin to be hydrated.

Snacks don't have to be unhealthy and really three small snacks between meals are good for you if they are the right kind. Some dietitians recommend for some people (and this is true of diabetics) more like six small meals rather than three big ones. Portion control is important too.

While you may not lose all the weight over the summer and it would be SUPREMELY unhealthy to do so, you will lose it AND you will feel better for all the positive changes you have made in your life. It takes time, but sweetie, you have time.

My best to you

Do the jogging like you are in the morning, swimming sometime though-out the day, and sit ups, push ups, and light jogging in the evening.

By the way if you are 150 now I think 30 pounds is all you need to drop, you don't need to go anything under 130 you still want to stay healthy, you don't need to be pick thin! ( it doesn't look that sexy anyways being pick thin )

Well no matter what time of day it is, exercise is great. Running in the mornings doesnt necessarily mean you are going to double your workout. Any cardio activity, 30 minutes a day, is awesome. Also, what you eat is important. Just remember to control the amount of food you eat. you can eat that ice cream, but just have a cup of it with sliced banana instead of three scoops with chocolate syrup. Everything counts and you will get there.

EXERCISE!!!!! EXERCISE!!!!! EXERCISE!!!!!
Diet: Eat about 1/2 of what you normally eat is but keep a balanced healthy meal. Don't starve yourself!!!!
Work out for 1-2 hours 5 times a week if you can. Running, Aerobics, anything to burn calaries.
Keep hydrated. Stay away from Pepsi/Coke, stuff like that is liquid candy. Gatorade is good.

There is no real trick to dieting. Most people who fail are just plain lazy and cant keep up eating correctly or exercising.
The hardest part will be changing your daily routine.

Good Luck!!!

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

- Drink a cup of water before each meal.
- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
- Eat anything that's whole grain or whole wheat, instead of white bread and pasta.
- Exercise for atleast 20 minutes a day. (playing sports, walking, running, etc)
- Don't eat junkfood.
