Well hun I am 18 and I have had a weight problem since I was about thirteen.(Just about when I hit adolecense) And to be perfectly honest there are really no "seceretes" no get slim fast. But there are ways to boost your metabalism. First off let me start of by saying know you have probally herd that before but its very true. I take it you are looking for a way to bost your metabolism and also lose weight and keep off. Well I will tell you what worked for me.
1st-Do not starve yourself or diet to the point where you are really hungry. If you are hungry eat (or drink water.)
*One good tip is if you are constently hungury you will not stick to a diet.
*If you have already eaten a resonible amount try drinking water.(or if you are like me and hate water) crystal light works also. (Avoid gaderada, vitimin water, minneral water and other sports drinks) despite advertising they do make you gain weight plus the suger in them. (Also they wont satisify your hunger like water or crystal light)
2.-Eat nutrious foods
*Dieting doesnt always mean eating less sometimes it means eating better food try eating the types of food bellow:
** *Breads***
Whole Wheat
Whole Grain
Multi-Grain
-They are alot better than white & Rye bread. The are not as full or carbs and suger. The also will fill you up better. (The taste good also, if you ever had a pb&j on whole weat bread it is filling and delicious)
****Dairy******
*Reduced fat milk (fat free is the best but if you dont like the taste try 1 or 2 percent)
*Try reduced fat cheese as well(if you go to yopur deli in the super market ask for low fat american or swiss, you cant tell the diffrences and it is good for you)
*Trying low fat yogurt as a healthy snack
*****Juices******
*The less the better. 4 oz of Oj is equakl to about one and a half large oranges.
*If you are a juice fan try limiting to a glass during breakfast, lunch and dinner.
*Do not drink fruit punch or sunny d or anything like that.
***Meats*******
*try lean meats, lean turkey, ground beef, steaks, chiken
*Try to stay away from pork (I know how it is to want to have bacon a susage in the morning but you wont lose weight like that.)
*****Fish*********
*If you like fish that a good food for you. I dont like it so i dont eat it but most fish is low in fat.
*******Snacks*************
*I know everyone likes there junk food so why deny your self*
*Buy the indivudule pack of chips, nabisco has alot. (Buy the 100 hundred calorie ones. Allow your self one back a day. YOu can have it for desert or an after noon snack)
*They have cookies, potato chips, doritos, cheese it, brownie bits, allow yourself the foods you like in moderation.

Eating, meals ect
*Try eating more x a day and less portions.
*You said you wanted to speed up your metablism and this is how you do it. Instead of eating 3 big meals try 6 to 7 small meals.
*You can distibute them like this. Breakfast, mid morning snack, Lunch, mid after noon snack, dinner, and a desert or after dinner snack. (Also allow your self a healthy snack for when you are extra hungry or going out with friends)
*Try not skiping breakfast. I hate breakfast but i get hungrier during the day if i miss it.
*A good breakfast is a boiled egg with some salt and pepper (or i even like duck sauce) try a piece of whole weat break with some butter and suger free jelly. maybe a glass of crystal Oj and if you are extra hungery why not try some turkey susage.
*A good lunch is a sanwhich, maybe turcky and cheese and lettece and tomato. (try using mustard instead of mayo)
*Try drinking diet soda. (There is alot of differnt diet sodas, anything you can get in regular you can get in diet. (Evern oragne and grape)
*A good dinner is about 4-6oz of lean meat., a cup of fresh or frozen (no sodium added) vegetables. a starch like noddles with light butter or light tomato sauce. of a biskit, or some corn(yes its a starch) or baked potato.
*As inbetween snacks try cracker packages, cheese sticks, yougurt, fruit, nutrigrain bars, or any whole weat bar with low calories.
*My best advise to you is not to starve your self. DOnt deprive yourself. If you are out with friends to a movie dont deprive your self of snacks. Just be cautions.Instead of getting a large popcorn comb try a small popcron (no extra butter it has enough) and a small diet coke or something diet. YOu can have the foods you like in moderation. (Sorry but candy isn't the best of idea)
*If you can exersie that always good. (I hate to so i dont its god but you dont have to)
*Just try eating right and staying full. Drink plenty of water (or crystal light they have plenty of flavors)
****Once you loss the weight do not do a 360 back to old eating habbits or you will gain it all back. Find a healtyh balance.********

Forget dieting I eat like a horse and I only weigh nine stone. This is what works for me: Eat regularly, if possible every three hours, when your body realises that it's getting a regular supply of food it increases it's metabolism, burning calories quicker and is much less likely to store calories as fat. When eating try to eat a lot of high protein foods and don't go too hard on the carbs. Try go easy on trans and saturated fats although you are allowed the odd treat. Drink lots of water! At least one gallon per day. Tea, coffee and fizzy drinks are O.K but they don' count towards your overall water intake. As for exercise I do some light weight training four days a week and cardiovascular (I use a rowing machine) two days a week with one days rest. There is a common belief that doing cardiovascular exercise on an empty stomach helps burn calories. This is absolute rubbish do not do it. Weight training is a good idea as muscle tissue burns a lot of energy, even while you sleep. You don't have to become Mr/Mrs universe but any fat tissue which you can convert to muscle tissue will not only make you look better but increase your metabolism. Getting plenty of sleep is also important when trying to build muscle. Good Luck

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Lift weights three days a week, or at least do sit-ups, push-ups, or leg-lifts if you've never lift weights before.
The other four days a week, run for 30 minutes a day..up hills, around tracks, wherever...don't worry about how fast you go, just run for at least 30 minutes 3x a week.
You might end up with a new favorite hobby, and a better body image at the sametime.
