I think pilates is better because it's not only postures, but it also uses machines (well, I guess not in your video), and it makes you more flexible and stronger, too. Yoga technically wasn't designed to help people get more flexible or stronger, it's just to help you get deeper into meditation. But you should do yoga, too. And meditation.

It depends on what you want. I've done both for three years. Yoga is great for overall strength and flexibility - I do power yoga and it is both an aerobic and strength-training workout. Pilates, as you know by now, is just for the abs. If that's your target area, don't give up pilates. But if you want better overall toning, do yoga. There is lots of core/ab work in yoga.

Big query, however practically, yoga is a static preserve (30 secons to one million minute or extra) and pilates are repetitive, aerobic sort exercises. Yoga has been round over 3000 years, pilates has been round approximately 20. Yoga is larger for pressure. It is what it used to be designed for. It has only in the near past been labored into the exercise craze. It used to be designed for inside peace and self disipline.
