I am making a cake for a baby shower on Saturday evening. I really want to bake, assemble and ice the cake on Friday afternoon. Is that too early? If it matters, it's just a basic marble cake with buttercream icing. If I can do it that early, how should I store it so it will stay fresh?

A friend of the family used to make these wonderful green beans as a side for dinner.. but she's passed so I obviously can't get the recipe. She would use canned, or sometimes home grown, beans to start, and then cooked them on the stove. That's all I remember. But the way they tasted was amazing. Very buttery/salty. Maybe a little bit of pepper but nothing to really ruin the taste or make them spicey. I'm wondering if anyone out there has a favorite way they make their green beans. I'm craving them for dinner and even though I could throw them on the stove and toss in some salt and butter to taste, i've done this.. and they weren't quite what I had hoped for. Maybe there's an extra something to make them taste amazing. Any hints/tips? Thanks :)

I want to cook eggs, but nothing too plain, but I want something different. I like eggs, and can only think to scramble, boil and make fried eggs. Can anyone help me think of another and different way to cook them so that they are delicious? Thank you!

My gran told me not to buy her anything for Christmas so I'm gonna make her something instead. So how do you make mulled wine, christmas puddings or mince pies?

My boyfriends from Georgia and he really misses boiled peanuts since he hasn't been able to find them anywhere in California. So I want to make him some for his birthday tomorrow, but I could only find roasted. I'll attempt it, but I want to know if it's possible to have them taste the same or close to the same, or if it'd even work at all...

I love white rice, especially Minute Rice with some powdered chicken soup mix stirred in, and all kinds of potatoes and such, but my doctor has told me to cut way down on carbs.
What other side dishes might I try? I also like steamed vegetables, but what else is there?

I decided to make chicken soup today, so I boiled a chicken for an hour and a half. It's cooked, but has a strange pink hue to it. Why would this be and is it edible?

I think it was in a holiday issue of an old McCalls magazine year about 93 or 94. If you had something like it I would love it. These were delicious.
