My friend and I are getting together soon for our annual Christmas cookie-baking day. Does anyone have any great suggestions on some easy-yummy cookies we could try to bake? Simple is best!
Thanks!

I usually bake cookies and cake with butter, but I have a friend who recently quit dairy, but will eat margarine. What are the best brands of margarine for baking? (I refuse to use Crisco)

I have bought fresh oregano for my herb garden as it is a herb I use a lot for cooking (dried).
I was wondering if you can use fresh oregano in cooking or if you have to dry it.
It doesn't smell very much (the plant).
Does anyone know whether you can use it fresh? If so, any recipe ideas?
If not, how do you dry it?

Whats the rest of the ingredients? How many cans of soup? Is it only cream of mushroom soup or do I add the chicken soup also? Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about here?

What I mean by preserve is can I freeze them and use them at a later date? I get so tired of wasting fresh vegetables. I mostly shop at Wal-Mart and they sell large quantities of celery and green onion, considering it's just me and my husband. I don't use either of those ingredients often but when I do they end up sitting in the vegetable tray until they rot. Also, when I cut an onion in half I usually wrap the other half in foil but when I come back to it at a later time it's all dry and all the juice is gone.

Add together in a blender:
Vanilla Ice cream, frozen strawberries, chocolate syrup

Will that make a strawberry chocolate milk shake or do I need something else for the strawberry?

I notice that lots of members ask for recipes. Why? There are millions of recipes on the internet, in cookbooks, magazines, etc. I understand them asking for ideas or maybe definitions and instructions but not recipes when the options are endless.

I changed my Thanksgiving menu at the last minute and now I have at least 6 cups of Kraft shredded sharp Cheddar cheese in my fridge. I don't want it to get moldy, but how do I use it up? Can it be frozen? Or do you have any good recipes that use a LOT of shredded Cheddar? Thanks.

Anybody got a GOOD recipe for a fruitcake (one that actually tastes good) which doesn't require booze? I like a moist fruitcake, but I'm told the best way to ensure moistness is including booze in the recipe. I do not cook with alcohol at all because of religious reasons (yes, I know the alcohol cooks out) and even the so-called "cooking wines" and non-alcoholic beers and ales still have alcohol in them. Surely there must be a good fruitcake recipe that doesn't require alcohol.
