This sounds so anal-retentive, but it has saved my butt so many times. I have a list of no-brainer meals that I can make in 15 minutes or less with stuff I usually have on hand taped inside of one of my cabinets. That way, when I come home very tired and hungry, or if whatever dinner I planned to have didn't work out, I have something ready fast. These are not things I'd want to eat for dinner everyday, but they work in a pinch. You could also go out or order delivery, but you won't get fed as fast as doing this.

My list includes french toast, scrambled eggs, grilled cheese sandwiches, quesadillas made with leftovers, peanut butter sandwiches, hot dogs, tuna salad, mac and cheese or beans and rice from a box, pasta carbonara, spaghetti with sauce from a jar, steamed frozen dumplings and rice, satueed frozen shrimp with pasta or rice, and frozen stir fry kits. I'm sure if you really think about it there are other things you eat that take less than 15 minutes to prepare. The key is having the list so you don't have to think about it when you are already hungry and tired.

you said "...yet" which implies that she just hasnt got round to it yet. If the person at home has kids to look after, or has other sizeable commitments you should try to be understanding and maybe get a snack while she makes dinner. you could even help her, or even - shock, horror - cook it yourself once in a while.

HOWEVER...if there are no children to care for and she is just sitting at home doing nothing and this is a regular occurrence and you are the sole provider for the family, perhaps you should chat about your respective roles and expectations of each other.

What I do is I snack on some Ritz crackers while shredding cheese for nachos or boiling noodles or something. Just make a quick meal like mac & cheese, noodles, pasta, or nachos. Or, you can just get some leftovers out of the fridge!
I hope I helped! You can also order food to deliver to your house, go out to eat (preferably at a fast food place that doesn't have a long line), or order takeout.
Great question!
I gave you a star! :) ♥

I'm usually the one at home and I almost always have his dinner ready. Not because he makes me, but because he's out there working his butt off to take care of me and our daughter...so I think it's the least I can do :)
BUT.....even if I didn't have something made, he would never give me attitude or something. He would ask if he needed to help with dinner. So I suggest you do the same!! ;) Almost always guarantees nookie later...

1. You can make dinner yourself.

2. Order some pizza to be delivered to your home.

3. Go to a fast food place that's close to home.

When I'm especially tired I always call home first so I won't run into this problem. When I have in the past though I've just ordered pizza because it's my favorite and helps me remain calm.

Move back to your parents' house or find a girl friend who is fond of cooking for you.
Easiest way is to make more money so you can order delivery.

In fact, it is all about how you invest you time, energy, money, care and many other things, since if you do not care and love your GF of parents, they may be on strike as well. : )

I offer to cook dinner. Yeah, it's manly to be able to cook. You wanna tell this war veteran I'm less of a man 'cause I actually like to cook? You best be able to run real fast if you do!

Offer to go pick up takeout.
or
Make yourself some toast to tide you over.
or
Check out what's in the freezer and throw something in the oven.
or
if none of the above works for you, I guess you could get VERRRY hungry !!
