The good sandwiches that delis sell usually go by a standard 100g per sandwich. I myself like less then half of that amount. It would really help if you went to a local deli that sells sandwiches and ask how much ham that they put in their sandwiches, that way you will get a better idea whether you would want to add less or not. At that rate if everyone had one whole sandwich and 100 grams in each sandwich you would need 13 pounds. I myself would probably use half of the ham and allow 1/2 sandwidh for each person, If so about 4 pounds should do it. This is if you are using thinly sliced ham. Allow for the end and the skin on the ham so get a little extra. If you buy a ham at a reputable chain store ask the store manager if you could have the deli person slice it for you on their automatic slicer, at the #6 slice thickness (check if you like that size first)
It will probably cost you about $7.00 per pound for the ham. I hope that this helps.

For a thick sandwich use 1/4 lb per person (4 oz.). That translates to 1 pound for every four people. So for 60 people you'll need 15 pounds. I don't know how much ham costs where you live, but where I live Boar's Head is about $8 a pound. So 15 pounds would cost $120.
You could do thinner sandwiches - and it would only cost you about $60 or $70.

I use to work in a deli and the rule of thumb was 5 sandwiches to a pound so that would be 12 pounds for 60 sandwiches

For a bridal shower I would do 3 oz or figure about 5 sandwiches to a pound. So you would need 12 pounds. The cost would depend on the quality of the ham. I would think probably $7 for reasonable good ($ 84) to $12 to very good ($144)

bridal shower guests do not want a huge chunk of ham in their sandwich. 2 to 3 ounces of meat should be fine. are you using sandwich bread or buns. mini croissants with a leaf of lettuce or better yet use bib lettuce, with ham would be quite sensational. I would also make an alternative meat like turkey. 4 ounces of meat is traditional for a dinner, yet could be overwhelming in a sandwich. how to figure out how much; 16 ounces equals a pound so how many pounds do you need?

WHOA!!! these ppl are crazy a 1/2 pound of cold cuts will run you 3-4 per person and thats like 12-14 slices of meat. I do trays at our local super market deli and a plater that feeds fifty has 1 lbs of turkey 1 lbs of ham 1lbs of roast beef and 1 lbs of salami 1lbs of prove and 1 lbs of american. Easily this makes 100 sanwhcihes that you would make with kaiser rolls from you bakery section. To make sure ppl dont take a lot of meat either get trays from your deli or order by the pound and make your trays at home but be sure to roll up the slices of meat this way guests will only take 2-3 slices because thats all that will fit on the roll. I also recomend having letace and tomatoes to ad as fillers to the sandwhiches. SO to break this down to make to have enough to make 300 sandwhiches: 3lbsof turkey expensive turkey tops whouldnt run you more than 9 bucks a pound 27 bucks 3lbs of roast beef same with roast beef 27 3lbs of ham ham shouldnt be more tha 6 18 3lbs of salami Salami 6 thats 18 3lbs prov cheese 7 for prov thats 21 3lbs american cheese and 5 for AC is 15 Whats really gonna kill ya price wise are the rolls kaiser rols are like 50 cents a piec which would be 150 but really most guests wont go up for seconeds its a polite thing so id get like 225 roles that way you can save and not have a gazillion rolls left over. All in all you shouldnt spend more that 250 on the cold cuts and rolls (also fyi this platter pre made cost about 60 bucks per tray at most grocery stores and to do it your self is gonna cost you over 40 per tray so if you got like 60 bucks in your budget just go to your delie counter at your local super market and have them make the trays such a hassle to do your self)

i would say that depending on what else you're making, you're looking at a quarter pound, maybe a little less, per person. so anywhere between 10 and 15 should do you okay. cost wise, deli ham here is about $7/#

The usual amount is 1/4 pound per person. So 15 pounds, but I would get an additional pound or two just for good measure.

It'll depend on the type & thickness of the slices.
For men, I'd use 2 slices with cheese for each sandwich.
But for ladies, 1 slice for 2 rounds of bread is enough.
A loaf of sliced bread is 24 slices or a dozen sandwiches.
A dozen thin slices of cooked ham is about 1/2 lb.
So 5 loaves would take 2 1/2 lbs of ham.
