Definitely without lol. Remember to remove the silk too. Those pesky little "hairs."

If you're boiling corn on the cob, take the husks off first...also, try to get as much of the silk off as you can, too. There wouldn't be any difference in time or flavor results, but just think about manually shucking an ear of corn that's 212 degrees F!

For best results, put your shucked corn in a large pot, and fill the pot with enough cool water to cover the corn. Remove the corn, put the pot on the stove, and bring the water to a rolling boil (do NOT boil the corn along with the water). When the water is boiling actively, carefully add the corn, and put a tight-fitting lid on the pot (the water will stop boiling when the corn goes in). Turn off the heat, but leave the pot where it is. After 12 minutes, the corn is ready.

Anytime it's not over a fire or bbq, take off the husks- for normal corn on the cob. But you should boil them, it takes all the nutrients out of it. If you have a steame thing, do that. If not, place a bunch of forks or silverware on the bottom so you can add a little bit of water and then prop the corn cobs up. Personally they taste better to me steamed, but I would enjoy either =) Have fun
