no, not a good match. corn syrup is a sweetner. cooking light magazine's website makes the following recommendation for 1/2 cup light corn syrup:
1/2 cup white sugar plus 2 tablespoons water
or
1/2 cup honey
adjust accordingly for your recipe.

Well it could work depending on the recipe because vegetable oil and corn syrup can deliver similar results such as moistness, but your best bet is to mix sugar and water and boil it until it is about the consistency of corn syrup. Careful though, sugar burns easily. If possible, you will save yourself a lot of hassle by borrowing some from a neighbor or going and picking some up.

I really don't know, but I would guess that it wouldn't be. Corn syrup is very sticky, and oil isn't.
I don't think a candy, especially, would turn out good. Maybe you should run to the store, or ask a neighbor.

your recipe asks for corn syrup DO NOT SUBSTITUE. oil is very thin and not sticky like corn syrup so run to the store and pick some up.
