My father loves salmon, but doesn't know of a good way to make it himself. He once asked Longhorn Steakhouse how they did it, but he forgot it by the time he got home. Any tips?

I have a whole chicken that I need to cook while it's still good and I also have a lot of beer in the fridge. I know you can make beer can chicken, in both the oven & on the grill, but I don't have a grill cause I live in an apartment complex, so I have to go to the courtyard to grill, and it's just not worth hassle, and the beers in bottles.

So what can I do with chicken and beer in the oven? I also plan to cook baby carrots, potatoes, the usual chicken side dishes.

..., any tips? I currently usually eat bacon/eggs/hashbrowns, salmon/GF cereal, Shrimp/wild rice for breakfast. Not much variety, and it doesn't taste very good. Any breakfast ideas for me?

Every time I watch the Food Network concerning meats, they cook it to rare or medium rare. That's all well and good, but I and everyone else I cook for consider this severely undercooked. Can anyone help me out with some good cooking times per pound per type of roast (5lb beef ribeye, 4lb Boston butt, or 3lb tuna loin, for instance) to achieve medium well - that stage of doneness where the last little bit of pink is gone, but the meat is still juicy?

I would like to cut down the bad fats in my family's diets. Many of the receipes we use to cook our meals call for vegetable oil (especially things like cakes, cookies, and baked goods). Can I use olive oil as a substitute or will it affect the way the food tastes and the way it cooks?

On the back of one of the yellow cake mixes is a recipe for a rich version that adds an extra egg, some vanilla pudding and either condensed or evaporated milk. Does anyone have this recipe?
