Make a cheese sauce first, then add noodles to the sauce.

2 tbsp melted butter; 2 tbsp flour; 1 cup milk; 1 cup grated cheddar

If you want it extra cheesy use 1.5 - 2 cups cheese.

Good Luck

This may sound like a very generic answer, but get 2 boxes of Kraft brand Mac and Cheese but only use 1 of the boxes for noodles and 2 packs of cheese. I do it all the time and it comes out very cheesy and delicious. You also want to make sure you boil out the milk and butter the best you can.

Otherwise, everyone else seems to love Velveeta or Cheese Whiz as an additive, but I think it doesn't mix well.

Here's my easy, creamy mac'n cheese recipe

2 cups uncooked macaroni
1 T salt
Large pot of boiling water
Cook macaroni at rolling boil, uncovered for 5 min (will still be very al dente) drain, but do not rinse.

Sauce:
4 T Butter
4 T Flour
1-1/2 C milk
1 lb. shredded cheddar cheese (divided in 1/2)
1 C sour cream
dash salt and pepper to taste
1 t. paprika
1/2 t. ceyenne pepper (optional)

1 C crushed cracker crumbs (for topping..optional)

Melt butter in large saucepan, add flour, cook and stir about 3-4 min on med heat, do not let flour brown, add milk, stir until creamy, cheese and sour cream, salt pepper and ceyenne. Whisk until cheese is just melted.
Stir cheese mixture and macaroni together well, add reserved cheese, stir again and pour into well oiled baking dish. Cover and seal with foil, bake at 350 for 30-40 min. Remove foil, top with cracker crumbs and continue baking 10 min.

Note: sauce will seem "thin" when you first mix it with the macaroni, but will thicken up while baking.

Enjoy.

boil #7 macaroni until cooked

Shred 16 oz Med or mild cheddar cheese (sharp cheddar will not get as creamy)

In baking dish layer, alternately, macaroni and cheese, repeat until all mac & cheese is layered (Top layer should be cheese.)

Mix 2/3 c milk and egg (beaten together)

Pour mixture over mac and cheese

put pats of butter or margarine ever 3" square.

Cook at 400 degrees until milk and egg mixture is no longer runny. Top should be VERY SLIGHTLY browned.

If you only use cheddar it's going to be all dry and oily. Mix half cheddar and half velveeta.

Btw, you just made me hungry, so now I'm making mac and chReese at 2:00 am when I should be asleep. XD thanks.
