This is my favorite comfort food. LOL
I tend to pig out when I am feeling down.

Pig Out Cake
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 small can (11oz) of mandarin oranges, undrained
1/2 c. oil
4- eggs
Icing:
12-16 oz Cool whip (I use 16 oz)
1 lg. can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 sm. pkg. instant vanilla pudding
Combine cake ingredients and mix well. Bake in rectangle pan at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until inserted tooth pick comes out clean.
Combine icing ingredients and spread on cooled cake.
Cake does need to be refrigerated until ready to serve.
* I sometimes add flaked coconut to the icing mixture

Edit: I would love to have your recipe for orange and apricot loaf. Sounds great. Email me if you would like to share.

Cheesy mac and cheese.....

I use a Velveeta cheese loaf some milk, half and half butter and little flour

cube the cheese
combine the cheese, milk, 1/2 & 1/2, butter and about 2 pinches of flour in a sauce pan and then on a very low setting set on stove and stir occasionally.... mean while cook noodles once cheese has melted and noodle are cooked I pour the melted cheese onto noodles and mix together...
now you can either bake it or have just like that we usuallly have it just like that....
enjoy...

note: try not to burn the cheese its very hard to clean if the cheese burns thats why its important to use a very low heat setting..

Breakfast-pancakes topped with peanut butter and hot syrup. Lunch-a grilled sandwich with the works! Like last night's leftover grilled chicken, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, cheese, bacon, tomato, avacado... Dinner-pizza always works for me! But also pastas with yummy veggies and sauces! Dessert-of all the things I love (and I have a huge sweet tooth!) then I'd absolutely have to say that my number one comfort food is a hot brownie, topped with a really rich creamy ice cream and hot fudge...mmmmmmmmmm

Treacle pie and custard is my favourite. Its so fiddly. Concentrating on what I'm doing means I block out everything else and washing dishes is always relaxing.
