We're having our wrestling banquet for the young wrestlers and cheerleaders who were involved. Cheerleaders are to bring desserts, while the wrestlers are to bring a side dish. I need ideas to compliment pizza and chicken wings.

My stepmother (half-Japanese) made a dish that had the following ingredients...

dried mushrooms,
sliced beef/chicken/shrimp,
bean sprouts,
water chestnuts,
bamboo shoots,
sesame seeds,
& onions.

I'm sure that it had other stuff in it, but that's all I can remember...I was a child. Does anyone have a recipe using these things or maybe fabricate a recipe? It was a stir-fry, and it may, or may not have been served over rice.

how long it takes to preheat oven to certain temperature, like 500F? when it then says bake the burger for 7 minutes, does that mean just put the baking sheet into the oven, which is preheated to 500F? and no need to turn on the oven again? sorry for so many questions, i am just new to use this stuff. Thanks

I'm attempting to make couscous with goat cheese and caramlized onions. However, the recipe I found said to just put the chicken broth in the microwave and put it over everything at the end (including the uncooked couscous.) This to me doesn't seem like it would work. Does anyone have a better version or way of doing it, or should I just try it this way? Thanks!

I am using a box cake mix- triple fudge chocolate-- or something real yummy sounding.

I am a pro at messing up cakes & cookies - and I know baking recipes aren't to be messed with. But it's my husband's birthday and I wanted to do something different...

I am going to chill the expresso to room temperature because I can forsee that it would ruin the eggs if hot... other than that- I would assume expresso is the same as water other than the taste... ??? :)

Any advice or warnings would be appreciated... and I guess if the cake is ruined I could go pick up a tiramisu or something for him. :)

We both LOVE coffee so I can't imagine it would be anything near strong for us & I know chocolate and coffee compliment eachother.... I also figured I could get a fudge frosting or something if the cake isn't sweet enough... but I don't know why it wouldn't be since the mix probably is full of sweetness.

Thank you!!

The basil at the grocery store looked horrible, but saw they had this horribly overpriced tube of basil - like a basil paste, but need basil for pesto in a recipe tonight to bring to a cooking party. Has anyone tried those? I know I should try and grow my own, but always forget to water it.

Hello, I'm going to attempt a recipe that includes Parmesan salami as an ingredient, however, I can't find it to buy! Will any other types of salami act as a usefule substitute?
Thanks.

I decided to make my girlfriend dinner tonight, and she says she's in the mood for crabsticks. The kind you find in the frozen section of your supermarket. I'm just trying to figure out what else to make that goes along with that. It has to be seafood themed because she has given up meat (beef, pork, and chicken) because of lent. Any suggestions?
