Quinoa apparently has a coating that needs to be removed or the dish will have a "soapy/bitter" taste. What is the best way to rinse the quinoa to ensure that it is gone? I've done everything from soak overnight in water to rinse under a strainer and I often still sense that taste of soap.

Thanks!

I am lactose intolerant and need a butter substitue. I don't bake, so that's not a problem and I use olive oil whenever I can. However, olive oil doesn't seem to fit with some recipes. Example: Honey baked acorn squash has a butter glaze that you pour over the top.

Any ideas?

I sometimes make a delicious side dish by sprinkling a halved fennel bulb with parmesan and roasting it. I always seem to eat it with salmon and I was just wondering if anyone had any other ideas...

I do my best to prepare healthy and low calorie dinners, but are running out of ideas. I am looking for your favorite dinner recipes that are maximum 400 kcal /1600 kj per person, healthy and filling.
