I like to split it, toast it.Cut both sides of the bagel into 4-6 pieces
On a plate set the the bagel pieces down cover with strawberry yogurt and fresh sliced strawberries, banana. Top with powdered sugar.

Another favorite-toast bagel cut in half, cover both slices with peanut butter, top with slices of banana, you can sprinkle some raisins over the peanut butter.

Salad on a bagel-Cut bagel in half, spread favorite salad dressing on both pieces, stack on a couple of pieces of green leafy lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced red onion, sliced cheddar cheese and what ever else you care to slap on. Get creative with it. Put the top on, mush it down and take a bite.

The bagels must be from a good bagel shop, and hand rolled if possible. (Come to New Jersey for the best bagels!) Don't get any bagels in the supermarket or Dunkin Donuts.
If the bagel is fresh, it need not be toasted. Slice the bagel in half (lengthwise, not through the hole). Spread plain cream cheese or cream cheese with scallions, chives, smoked salmon, on the bagel. (I like to eat one half at a time, but you can make it a sandwich if you prefer.) You can also make bagel pizzas by adding sauce, cheese, Italian seasonings, and heating them up.
Of course, you can always just add butter or margarine and jelly.
