Try looking at cookery books by Rose Elliot - she's the 'queen' of veggie cook book writers and has lots of imaginative ideas for lentils.

I have a German Recipe for Lentilsoup. 1 Pound Lentils, 2 Carottes, 2 Large Potatoes, 200 gr. Black Forest Ham (available at Lidl) 2ltrs. Beef Stock , 2 dried Bayleaves, 1 Onion spiked whith whole Cloves ( only for cooking, take it out before serving )
Chop Carottes and peeled potatoes in small pieces and put all ingredients in a large pot and cook it on small energy for about 2 hours. Warm up some Frankfurters or Bockwurst and serve with brown bread. This is for about 4 servings.

easiest thing to do is buy the cans of precooked from the supermarket, these can be added to currys or casseroles or stews, or rinsed and eaten mixed with hot or cold rice or just tossed into salad.why not try some homemade lentil soup or green lentils as a vegetable as part of a main meal

I'm sure a web search would get you many-but I also suggest just using your imagination and flavors you already enjoy. Lentils and other legumes meld effortlessly with almost any flavor and you can easily include them in your favorite soups and casseroles in place of meat for a healthier version.

There are loads of Internet recipe sites. Some that I use a lot are recipezaar as someone else mentioned, epicurious.com, allrecipes.com or just do a search for lentil recipes. There is no shortage of recipe ideas. Happy cooking!

package (12 ounces) lentils, rinsed
2 cups water
1 bay leaf
2 tsps salt
1/4 tsp each pepper, marjoram, sage, and thyme leaves
2 large onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic minced
1 16 oz can tomatoes
2 large carrots, cut in 1/8 inch slices
1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, seeded and chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 1/2 cups (6 oz.) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Rinse and pick over lentils, discarding any that float to the top or are discolored.
Place lentils in a shallow 3 quart casserole or 9 by 13 inch baking dish along with the water, bay leaf, salt, pepper, marjoram, sage, thyme, onions, garlic, and tomatoes with liquid from can.

Bake, covered, in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and stir in carrots and celery.

Cover and bake for about 40 minutes more, or until vegetables are tender.

Remove from oven and stir in green pepper and parsley. Sprinkle cheese on top.

Return to oven and bake, uncovered, for 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.

1 1/2 c. dried lentils
6 c. vegetable stock (or water, do not use beef or chicken)
1 c. chopped dried apricots
3-4 tbsp. olive oil
1 c. chopped onions
16 oz. can stewed tomatoes
1 green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. diced potato
1/2 c. diced carrot
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. red pepper
1 tbsp. paprika
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
1 tbsp. chopped fresh mint

Rinse lentils, bring them to a boil in the stock or water. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 20 minutes. Add chopped apricots and simmer, covered for another 20 minutes. Meanwhile, saute onions in oil until translucent. Add the remaining vegetables, dried spices and salt. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons of water and cook until potato and carrots are tender, about 10 minutes. Stir vegetables into lentil-apricot mixture, add canned tomatoes and simmer about 15 minutes. Add parsley and mint and serve.

Have you tried searching on the internet - try google as it's bound to bring up lots of recipes. Otherwise you could try the BBC website: www.bbc.co.uk/food and search their recipes either by name or ingredients. My Mum add lentils to stews and soups as they kind of melt down and thicken up the item.
