I like my steak really rare (blue) and i can cook it so it is blood red throughout and sealed on the outside but it is only ever luke warm. When i eat at restaurants it is really hot all the way through the steak even when its a really thick fillet.
How can i keep my steak rare and have it hot?

I do serve it on heated plate. Any sensible tips greatly appreciated.

p.s. nothing anybody says will convince me to stop eating meat and become vegetarian.

My mum had this old recipe for flapjacks that was recently burnt to pieces and none of us can remember the recipe and most flapjack recipes do not have a pastry base. Anyone have a similar one?

I've been to restaurants that prepared stuff that I make at home which takes me 30 to 40 minutes even after preparing everything but the restuarant not only makes my order but several other orders at the same table within 15-20 minutes. How do the do that, do they fully prepare the food ahead of time and just reheat it? Anyone who works in a kitchen, can you answer this question?

I know Extra virgin is better for you, and is nice in dressings, but is it true only to fry in normal olive oil.
and which oil do you think is most healthy-as I have just bought some pure corn oil and pure soya oil.

Does anyone out there have a great recipe for pasta and tuna, served hot? One that doesn't use a long list of ingredients - I need to keep it simple!

I want to know how to make the "blooming onion" from Outback. I know you can get those kits, and I have one. In fact, the kit works well as far as making sure the onion gets cut just right. But this doesn't solve my batter problem. How does Outback get each petal covered so nicely? I'm not interested in links to websites; I've looked at those. I want someone with actual experience making these. Thanks!
