GARLIC CHEESE BISCUITS

1 1/4 cups biscuit mix
1/2 cup grated sharp Cheddar
1/2 cup water

Garlic Butter:
1/2 stick unsalted butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Combine the biscuit mix and cheese in a small bowl. Add the water and stir just until combined. The dough will be slightly moist. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 10 minutes, until the biscuits are firm and beginning to brown.

While the biscuits are baking, make the garlic butter. In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic powder, salt, and parsley flakes. Mix well. As soon as you bring the biscuits from the oven, brush them with the garlic butter using a pastry brush.

This is a very tasty recipe and they taste JUST LIKE the ones from Red Lobster! Enjoy.

You're talking about the cheddar bay biscuits that they bring to the table, right? Yummy!

I've come really close with Bisquik baking mix. Mix the dry Bisquick with about a cup of finely shredded cheese; if you use the pre-shredded kind from the store, you'll be fine. If you grate your own, mix about a teaspoon of flour with the cheese before adding it to the bisquick; if you don't the cheese will clump together - the flour helps keep it separated and spread throughout the dough when it's mixed.

Mix the wet ingredients with the Bisquick and cheese. Drop into biscuits like you normally would. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic salt and parsley and bake as directed.

My kids LOVE going to Red Lobster for the biscuits - they think I've brought some home from the restaurant when I've made these. Good luck!

Red Lobster's Cheddar Biscuit Recipe

breads, muffins, copycat

2 cup Bisquick
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar
2/3 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Mix Bisquick, cheddar and milk into soft dough. Beat with a wooden spoon for about 30 seconds. Spoon on to greased cookie sheet. Smooth down tops. (Bisquick forms sharp hard points otherwise) Bake for 8 to 10 min at 450 degrees. While baking, melt butter in pan and stir in garlic powder. Take biscuits from oven when done and brush butter on tops and serve hot. This recipe came from Virgene Kilbourne via the Omalia Cooking School, via Red Lobster.

I love this recipe because whenever we go to Red Lobster I never eat anything. I don't like seafood, but my family does. This means I can make my favorite thing on the menu whenever I want and I can do it in my pajamas!

30 min 20 min prep

1 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
1 teaspoon parsley, minced
1 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced (important, chopped will ruin it!)
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Put butter in saucepan and melt.
Add parsley and garlic and put on very low heat until mixture begins to bubble.
While you're waiting, mix Bisquick and buttermilk in a separate bowl.
Once butter mixture has bubbled, add to Bisquick and buttermilk mixture.
Stir until everything is incorporated.
Add cheese.
Take rounded tablespoons of dough and"plop" on a baking sheet.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
Let cool 2 minutes and brush with more butter.

No but there is a simliar pack you can buy at the grocery. They cost less than $1.00. It's in the baking goods area near the cake mixes and stuff. They are garlic cheddar biscuits. It says you only add water. I add a little more garlic powder and some extra cheese. Tastes like Red Lobster to me.

1. one package of plain buttermilk buscuits that come in the tube (usually 4 tubes for under a $1.00)
2. 1 cup melted butter in a bowl
3. 5 tablespoons garlic powder or finely chopped garlic

melt the butter, stir in the garlic powder or finely chopped garlic
dip the uncooked buscuits into the butter garlic mix
bake at the temp on the biscuit package and for the time listed

as an added bonus you can make this to add to the buscuits upon cooked:

mix one cup unmelted butter with 5 tablespoons chopped garlic or garlic powder to spread on warm biscuits.

hope you enjoy!

I believe the site name is copykat. You can make the same garlic butter they use by mixing a garlic spread with real butter and some garlic salt.
