So, I'm 25 , my fiancee is 29. We've been together for 21/2 years and we're both professionals. I still live with my parents. After I announced my engagement my father got so mad that I am getting married that he barely talks to me. The rest of my family approves, but it's like a tabu to talk about my wedding at home and it's like nobody can participate in my wedding because my father doesn't approve. He still hasn't given me a good reason why. He's a very jealous guy, and I know its just that he doedn't want to let go. But he's a wall, and would NEVER listen. What should I do? This is totally ruining my wedding :(

My grandma has nicely volunteered to make the food for my wedding and wanted to start with Lasagna as the main dish. We can't think of any ideas on what to make to go with it. Any ideas on what goes well with lasagna? Thanks

My fiance and I want to say our own vows to each other but we don't want/ need that slip of paper that comes with the traditional ones. I was thinking about having just a big party with all of our family in the back of the house and saying our vows to each other with music playing from a cd I just need to know one thing who sings the song " I finally found the love of my lifetime"

I'm getting married in May and have decided to have a traditional hymn, so that who those who don't attend church on a regular basis, will feel comfortable with something fairly familiar.

I know a lot of brides here are on a tight budget and are getting creative with planning their wedding. So I want to know what is the best deal you got so far. The best deal we got was our professional photographer friend offered to do our wedding photos for free. And so did our jazz trio.

Guys, there was this guy. who loved me a lot. He proposed to me 4 years ago, I refused his proposal. He's sister called me last week to be the bridemaid for his wedding...I refused that too. But I'm still invite it to his wedding. So here is the question...Should I dance a lot for him too? I mean I dance a lot in every weddings...and he sees me dancing so much. But if I dance little bit at his wedding, would he think that I'm sort of jealous or that I regret not marrying him?

My guy and I have been together 7 yr and have recently been talking seriously about our wedding. We have been waiting, until we were "stable". My guy is on the verge of a big promotion (salary and company car), which should come through by the end of the year, and we were going to officially declare our engagement then. We just received a call that his younger brother and his girl have become engaged and plan to marry May '09. While I am happy for them, I am very upset because I don't want to "scoop" them, but had been hoping for June '09 (if not 08) . Plus my mom had a close call with breast cancer last year and has never fully recovered, and my dad is 70yrs old and had both knees replaced and I'm not sure how much longer he would be able to actually walk me down the aisle. Can we ask them to delay their wedding, or if it would be okay for us to have ours before their's. One concern is his family which would have to fly in and I don't want to ask them to twice in one year

My fave cousin is getting married and i'm in the wedding!! as a bridesmaid. I'm very excited!!! She is marrying an amazing guy....Hes perfect for her.
How much should I give them? Money is of course tight, im single living alone. I will be bringing my boyfriend to the reception. I was thinking 50, but that seems so low and i want them to be "wow thanks" not "oh only 50?" So, how much should I give? maybe 100?

Does anyone know of a Raleigh Caterer that is good and reasonably priced. I don't want to spend a lot of money although I know it is going to cost. My main focus is on the food. I want good food, but not the fancy food. Anyone ever had a wedding catererd from place near raleigh or in raleigh?

I personally am a plus sized 18 and I decided on a halter dress for my wedding dress...well I've seen far too many Brides 22+ lately wearing strapless gowns and looking all insecure in their photos...why do it? And then they're worried their boobs are going to pop out when they dance. Aren't you suppose to be classy that day? I'm all for saying a Plus sized Bride CAN look as good as a smaller Bride But respect yourself...Sorry--My pet peeve of that day! I think being a bigger girl I CAN say this! LOL!

I meet my gf daily & we do kissing groping etc everyday in the car. She seems to be more interested in sexual touches.
we meet six days a week.
we will marry after 8-9 months.
PLEASE SUGGEST me what other activities we can do so that we get a feeling that we are not just meeting for one thing.
Please suggest a cost effective solution

We are doing the invitations ourselves and after printing about 50 of them, we found out that the minister had something come up and was not going to be available on the original date. The date has been changed to a week later and I really don't want to re-print these invitations if there is a simple but acceptable fix.

I need your input badly. I am with a man that got a divorce 1 and 1/2 yrs. ago, He gave me a ring and asked me to marry him last April, I said yes. But Now I looked at his phone bill and he calls his x wife many times in a month and she calls him. This is making me sick as to what to think of this. If I talk to him he gets upset. And tells me he gives me no reason that he treats me good and he is always here for me. That is true, but why the x wife does he have to call so much. I feel like he is cheating on me. and he won't talk to her when I am around. Please give me some input. Thank you Angie
PS He has no children and we are in our 60's

I am not yet engaged.. but I will be engaged in about 3 weeks (and yes i KNOW, i'm not guessing). We haven't discussed dates very much, but I am pretty sure the wedding will be sometime between Aug-Oct 2008. Also, the wedding will be small (less than 50 guests).

Is it ok to start planning it now, since it will be less than a year from now?

Alright guys the wedding is just three weeks away so it's going to be a question an hour from me! I really need to get my ringbearer a gift but I'm totally clueless on an idea. He's eight so the teddy bear type items don't work. I don't want to spend more than $15-20. Any ideas on a cute gift that he'll actually like but is still appropriate as a ring bearer gift?
