I know a lot of brides here are on a tight budget and are getting creative with planning their wedding. So I want to know what is the best deal you got so far. The best deal we got was our professional photographer friend offered to do our wedding photos for free. And so did our jazz trio.

Well, your deals are better than mine, but here are three that people who don't know people can use:
1. For our wedding photographer, we went with a professional photographer who specializes in shooting corporate events (though she does some wedding work). Her rates are much cheaper than wedding-specific photographers, and she was willing to do just three hours instead of following us around all day like some do (that would have made me crazy!). We saw samples of her work, which were lovely.
2. Our DJ was recommended to us by the venue (both ceremony and reception at the same place). Because he's so familiar with the venue, he agreed to lower his price because he doesn't have to figure out set-up, he knows the rules of the venue, he knows the staff.
3. We worked with our caterer on a customized menu (mostly because we weren't crazy about the standard options). We saved about $10 a plate and ended up with a menu we prefer.
I found that vendors were willing to work with us if we just asked.

We got a really good deal on a photographer. My friend who recently got married suggested that I look at her photographer's website. They had a big promotional event going on, and we were able to get a photo package that was normally $3500 for just over $1000.
I also was able to get my dress, veil, and shoes for $360. The bridal shop was having a big inventory reduction sale, plus my dress is actually a bridesmaids dress and not a traditional wedding gown. And...part of their sale involved $60 off shoes and 10% off veils. it was a very pleasant surprise.

The best deal I got were the clips I put in my hair for my updo. They were cute little flowers decorated with Swarovski crystals. I didn't care about the crystals, but I loved the clips as they matched the bead work on my dress. The bridal stores wanted $300 for 5 clips and I needed at least 10. I finally found them on e-bay. I paid $40 for 15 clips, shipping included. It was a great steal.

Our friend who is a amazing gutiarst offered to play at our ceremony for free.
The best deal was the venue All of this was included in the price. I am having my ceremony on the beach, reception hall over looking the ocean, all the food and bev (alcohol in included), clean up, wait staff, Bar tender, wedding coordinator, dishes, liens, chairs, tables, our room for the night, they set every thing up. A grooms room, set up in the garden for guest to wait have have drinks, sign the guest book. With tip included for all staff $10,000 including tax!
I also got a great deal on photos. It comes with 2 photographer & 2 video-grapher. 8 hours, our book, two parents books, 200 5x7 print outs of our choice, 4 8x10, we get all our pic on a cd so we can print as we please. We also get all 8 hours of wedding footage on a dvd (that we can copy) We also get a 30min version of the wedding to music etc so we can show it to friends and family on dvd we can copy as well. $3,000.00
I have been planning and saving for our wedding over a year and still have 7 months to go.

the best deal i got was going to city hall in a beautiful wedding gown of my dreams,best man,brides maids,man of my dreams and a big reception in our back yard total cost for somethng so wonderful that if i could change time and do it differently wouldn't 750.00

the dj that did our wedding ive known since i was a little kid. when i asked him if he would do it for me he said yes and i asked him how much it would be and he said free! it was our wedding present from him...it was the best!!!!! if we had to pay it would have been about 500 dollars
