You won't have enough time to order the wedding dress you absolutely want if you only have a month. You may have to buy off the rack which will limit your choices in regards to size and style (whatever they have in store). Remember you may also have to get it altered for the perfect fit which really is cutting it a bit fine.
Mori lee have some beautiful dresses as does Maggie Sottero.
Go to bridal stores and try on their dresses, sometimes they will sell you the floor sample (or display sample) at a reduced cost right then and there, but it may have some small defects or need cleaning.

Go to shops in your area and ask about "off the rack" dresses. Sometimes they'll sell you sample dresses they have in their store that have been discontinued. Your selection will probably be limited though.
When is your wedding? If you have time, start browsing websites to find a dress you like...then you can order it from your local shop. I LOVE Maggie dresses : www.maggiesottero.com
Good luck!

if you want something fast and cheap go to david's bridal. personally i hate that place. if you want a dress that not everyone else has, go to a bridal shop that is not a chain type store live david's and order one. it will take a few months to get it since they are specially made. not sure if you need the actual dress at your house when he comes back or if he simply wants you to have one ordered.

You can find online to find one that you really like. if not just google bridal boutiques near you to try on a few. Some may not look so pretty on the hanger but will look beautiful on you. (Happened to my friend) You might want to go to other stores rather than the big chain stores.

I found mine in a consignment shop. It was cheaper than new and looked beautiful on me! Depending on how old it is, it might be more unique than what you'd find in a "new" dress shop.
