Invitations have already been mailed for my bridal shower. One of my bridesmaids is now offering to host another shower for me. I'd love to have a lingerie shower, but I invited almost all my female friends to the bridal shower. Is it wrong to have a lingerie shower in addition to the bridal shower and invite some of the same women to both? Would it be appropriate to indicate that a gift is not necessary at the lingerie shower?

Im 16 and my boyfriend is 18. We have been in a long distance relationship for almost 9 months and are so in love. It was love at first sight when we met on christmas day. We talk about marriage and kids all the time, planning our future.
If we stay together, i am moving to Boston in 2 years to live with him for a year (taking a gap year before university). I would love to get married to him when i turn 18 but he doesnt want to get married until we're financially secure and hes finished uni. I know hes being sensible and its clearly the right thing to do but i really really want to get married to him as soon as possible!!!!
What are your thoughts????

To pay for so much? The engagment party gift, shower & gift, dress ,shoes , hair makeup ,bachelorette party, wedding gift etc!! Its insane , I know I could have declined but I didnt realize how expensive it was going to be.
Heres what my latest freinds wedding has cost me
$100 engagment party gift
$385 bridal shower contribution
$215 dress
$45 alterations
$50 shoes
$40 hair
$75 makeup
$ ? bachelorette party (she wants an overnight in atlantic city)
$ 200 actual wedding gift, the plates at her wedding are $90 so i have to cover that at least for my guest and myself!
Is it like this everywhere? I live on long island & ive heard in other parts of the country weddings are more relaxed.

I am looking for a wedding planning book with checklists, etc that I can fill in with details of the wedding I'm going to be in. All I've found so far is books for the bride, groom and Mother of the bride. Please suggest what I can use.

This isn't a marriage propasal, I am just really against overly formal dress, especially in such a happy occaission as our wedding. I'd rather wear jeans and flip-flops with a colorful shirt than a black coat and black pants, with really questionable shiny shoes. does such a girl exist who doesn't want the $50,000 princess wedding?

Without fail, if someone asks about them on here, someone says not to have them at all. Personally, I think they are a nice way to break up a sometimes boring event, and I've never noticed ANYONE complaining about them. It seems as long as there aren't a ton of them and as long as they're fun, people enjoy them.

What are your feelings about them?

My Groom to be and I have talked about blue and green (our favorite colors) as our wedding colors since we started talking about getting married. Now that we are engaged and I am seriously thinking about it, I really don't want blue because I feel its so popular. I don't feel green could be the main color due to a dark green (the only acceptable green) would not look good on one of my bridesmaid. I want something different, but still something I love.

We are getting married early Nov (2008 of course) and I am clueless. I read about using your favorite sports team color and since I am a huge baseball fan, I was thinking about doing Red and white (maybe a little blue since their colors are Red and Blue, with white).

Any other ideas? I have a bridesmaid with dark hair and darker skin, and another with blonde and fair skin. I want something that looks good on both.

Im getting married but my fiance and i dont have a house.
We will be staying with my parents after we marry.
We dont have anywhere to put gifts so we were thinking of recommending money as a gift. We dont know how long we will be at my parents house, and we dont want to have to put things in storage.
Are there nice ways to suggest this?

David's Bridal has the color I want (olivine), but none of the styles in the color work. Alfred Angelo doesn't have the color. Does anyone know of any other relatively inexpensive collections like these? My bridesmaids are 5'7'' and a size 7, 5'5'' and a size 9 and 5'8'' and a size 26. So as you can imagine, I need different styles for each girl. I'm very bridezilla about somethings. I need all the dresses to match perfectly in fabric and color. Can anyone help me out on this?

I don't want the typical wedding vows to love, honor and cherish til death til we part as I've been married 2 times before and obviously don't know what forever means. Any ideas?

I asked my cousin to be in my wedding about five months ago and she was thrilled, now I find out that she has been trying to get pregnant and is currently pregnant with her third child. She is due two weeks after my wedding and I don't know what to do. I angry becasue she still wants to be in the wedding even though we don't know if she will be able to make it. I am paying for the bridesmaids dresses and chose an inexpensive dress that won't be able to fit her because we have no idea what size she is going to end up. We also don't want to spend the money on an extra tux if she has the baby early which happened with her two other chldren. I am I being petty and selfish or do you think it would be OK to ask her not to be in the wedding anymore. I feel like she brought this on, She is the only bridesmaid and I feel like she is ruining my wedding because I have NO ONE else to be in the wedding party, I am mad at her becasue she could have waited six months to have a baby!

If you received a wedding invitation inviting you and your spouse but not your family. I'm not excited about the prospect of having children at my wedding and feel it would be appropriate to invite the adults only (not specifically saying no children, but by addressing the invitation to Mr & Mrs. How would you feel?
