ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT IF YOU MET A MAN YOU WERE REALLY INTERESTED IN?WOULD YOU APPRECIATE IT IF HE STILL WORE HIS WEDDING BAND OR KEPT THE MEMORY OF HIS EX ALIVE BY HIS WEARING A CERTAIN PAIR OF UNDERWEAR THAT HIS EX WIFE/GIRL BOUGHT FOR HIM?THINK OF ALL THE DEVASTATING DAMAGE THAT COULD BE DONE! PUT THE BAGGAGE AWAY OR BETTER YET PAWN THE ENGAGEMENT RING AND WITH THE MONEY GO OUT AND CELEBRATE THE BEGINNING OF YOUR NEW LIFE.

Ooh. That's a bit tricky. You're not married but like the ring and want to wear it, even though it is no longer a symbol of the love you shared.
I'd suggest wearing it on your right hand or having the gold and stones made into some other piece of jewellery.

I think an engagement ring/set is the most intimate material thing that connects two people. If you don't love the guy anymore then it is weird to still be wearing the ring that he gave to you in love. It probably confuses everyone that you know because it shows that you still are with him emotionally.
I would trade the whole thing in for something entirely different.

If you want a guys answer, I'd say it is O.K. if you want, but it is more of a taboo than anything. Not as many guys will hit on you because they will see the ring, even if it isnt a wedding ring, they will assume it is from a date, and look for someone else.

Barbie thinks you should take the diamond out of the setting and rebirth the stone in a different non- engagement ring setting. Melt down the gold and recycle that too. Brand new ring with no reminder and meaning of ex husband.

Here is my situation: Recently divorced, beautiful ring, won't get what it is worth if I sell it. He doesn't deserve to have it returned, it was a gift. I would wear it on my right hand but I think I will trade it in at the jeweler for something I pick out like nice diamond earrings.

Hi, I am no longer married and i still wear my diamond and wedding band, but i wear it on the right hand not the left. I don't feel that it is wrong. I just think it would be in poor taste to wear it on your ring finger

Not on your ring finger; you are telling everyone that you are married or engaged.
If you like the ring then move it to another finger. Unless you want to push guys away and tell the world you are married. The advice to change the setting to some other piece of jewelry was a good idea.

This was covered on Sex in the City, no you shouldn't wear the ring, if you're divorced. The marriage is over and the symbols of it should be put aside. Also, depending on the circumstances of the divorce, you should give the ring back. If you're a widow, only you can answer this question.

if you're the type who loves jewelry then just reset it to make it a new ring...or just wear it like it is..a lot of women now a days have the engagement type rings on anyway..no need to put it aside but if you're the opposite and don't care for it much then you might as well sell it..no need to hang on to something that is not worth hanging on to don't you think?

I don't find anything wrong with it at all. I think you should wear it, if it feels right to you. I wore my "old one", but I wore it on the right hand.
A few years ago I took my ring to my jeweler. I had him take the diamond and design me a beautiful necklace with it. Maybe you should think about doing that. It's just a suggestion:)
