I want to know if I am being a Bridezilla if I would like all my bridesmaid to have their hair up, and I am the only one that has my hair down.... the thing is, my fiance's sister is one of my bridesmaid, and she has a short bob – is it unreasonable of me to request someone with a short bob to have her up?
P.S. all other bridesmaids have long hair

My mom is getting married in late November. We just found out last night. She wants my to be the maid of honor. She asked me to help her with a lot of stuff, which I don't mind at all, but she asked me what colors would look good. I have no idea. It will be late fall early winter so everything will be kinda dead and dark outside. It will be a church wedding. She is going to wear a cream colored or Ivory dress. And her husband to be is going to wear a light gray suit. Any ideas?

I think with all of the money people spend on finding the place, paying for the food, the dress(es), the limo, hair, make-up, etc.
it's sort of unnecessary to have all of these crazy add-ons that people insist are necessary:
"Goodie bags" for out of town guests...
Gifts for EVERY person in the wedding
Exhorbinantly expensive favors
Personalized stamps
The list goes on....

I know it's your special day...but that's the point, it's yours and most people aren't going to notice a lot of what you're slaving over...

...maybe I'm just tired of hearing about it from my own bridezilla....but anyone else agree? Are all of these add-ons really necessary?? We get into fights over this stuff and lose sight of the whole concept of what 'marriage' is.

My fiance and I got engaged July 28th. The ring he gave me was one his mother (who doesen't like me because she wants her son to have no life and just take care of her and her bills) gave to him, and he gave to me. Saturday, she saw it on my finger and demanded it back. Which to save us from a fight, I did. But he never told me it was on loan from his mother, we bought me a new one....but should I be upset with him? Should I HATE his mother?

Someone told me that it is tradition to have weddings when the hands on the clock are moving up, and funerals when they're moving down. Is this true? If so, how did this originate?

I really wanted my cousin's twins to be my flower girls but they will only be a month shy of being 2 when we get married. (they probably won't make it down the aisle.)

But I still want the "fall leaves" to be in the aisle when I walk down, any suggustions on who could or how I would do that?

My dad and I had a good relationship until last night! He doesnt want to walk me down the isle or come to my wedding, because my mother and her side of the family will be there. He said he feels uncomfortable being around them. He and my mom divorced almost 6 years ago. He left my mom for another woman and now theyre married. So last night we argued. He thinks its wrong of me to try to get him to do something hes uncomfortable doing, and I think hes being selfish and putting his feelings before mine. He even offerred to pay for the honeymoon...like if thats going to make everything ok! So now, I guess my brother will walk me down the isle. But he is supossed 2 b a groomsmen. How am I going to pull that off during the ceremony? And am I being selfish?

If an Indian male wants to get married to a non-Indian female in Europe, which certificates are requested for him?
What kind of VISA does he need to get?
Any other certificates than birth certificate, passport and visa necessary?
What about marriage witnesses? Can any friend from the bride´s side be his best man?
How long does it take to get an appointment ant the civil registrar´s office for the marriage ceremony?

If you should send a gift, do you do it when you send the RSVP that you can't attend. Or do you send it closer to the date of the wedding. A cousin is getting married and it's too far and too costly for me to attend with transportion and hotel fees included.

My b/f and I have lived in his house for 1 year now. In the begining he had begged me to move in, told me how he wanted to marry me and have children, basically persued me completely and was the sweetest most perfect boyfriend ever, I've been under no doubt that he is the one for me, and I cuold envision, like I have with no other man that we would be together forever. A few months ago the committment issue came up, and he started to say "He didn't know if he can give me what I want", and "he is not sure about us" and "It's because I hate myself that I can't committ to you". So, as you would expect I was devastated. He even told me "He didn't want to be with me!". But then, when I said I was moving out, he begged me to stay, and said "I'll put you on the mortgage, that;s a comittment isn't it?" I thought yes, but he lied to me and never did anything about it, even though he said he had. I then looked into moving out and buying a flat, I've found the perfect place, but.....

How long where you with someone before he said that he loves you and wants to marry you?

I have been dating a guy for a few weeks and he already said that he wants to marry me. He can see me as his wife in the future, and wants to get engaged in a couple of months, and to start planning a wedding.

He asked me what i think about all this, and wants an answer.
At first i was really freaking out. I do enjoy spending time with him. I am not as scared and freaked out as i was before, as i never had a boyfriend before.

Has anything like this happened to anyone before?

I am getting married this October and my fiance and I have really made and effort to put our personal stamp on the day. We both looooove sweets so for the reception we are having a candy buffet, cookie table, and instead of traditional wedding cake, our favorite bakery is making their famous burnt almond torte into a wedding cake for us. We are so excited! To top it off on a fall evening, we are serving hot caramel apple cider with the cake.

Now I thought this was great, but both my mother and his mother think that people are not going to like this because the cake is smothered in almonds and not everyone likes apple cider. I feel like this is our special day and if they don't like it, we have plenty of other sweets on the candy buffet and cookie table. Do agree and think the majority of people will not enjoy this? I thought it was fantastic...

Ok. Here's the thing. A long time ago, I decided on this pretty outdoor location for my wedding and to have the reception thereafter. So, at the time, no one thought it was a big deal until the last minute. The wedding is set for Sept. 22nd. My soon to be father in law is preparing the food (he really wanted to anyways and so I figured why not). Now the inlaws are telling me basically we cant have the food where I originally wanted it b/c so-called not enough room which is hog wash, not enough hook-ups (which I did not realize until now and is true) and they don't feel up to bringing the food out there but yet it's all in the same town. Someone mentioned having the reception some place else and announcing it at the wedding. Well, my soon to be father in law was decided on finger foods which was cool but now they are going all out on full course meals. What should I do about this and should I change reception plans?

There are going to be quite a few children at my wedding, and I absolutly adore all of them, so I'd like to be able to involve them as much as possible, and give them an atmosphere that they can enjoy too. Suggestions??? I'm thinking of doing a pinate and limbo at the reception, and really that's fun for eveybody anyway.
Thanks!

My fiance and I are planning on a wedding around mid-December 2008. Without going over-the-top tacky with the theme, what are some things we could do as far as decorating, party favors, etc. goes to play up the Christmas theme? I think our cake is going to be decorated to look like 3 gift boxes stacked up. Anyway, any suggestions are great! We're really lost, and trying really hard to come up with some fun ideas!

I am currently going into my junior year of undergrad studies (I will be done in Dec/2009), and my boyfriend of 3 years and I have been talking about getting engaged and marriage a lot lately...I was thinking a good wedding date would be 4/24/10 (we have been together since 4/24/04)...if we made our plans official and got engaged now, is 3 years too long to have to plan a wedding? Since I am still in school, I want to wait to save up money and have financial stability and a career in my field in place. It makes sense to me to save for 3 years so that I have the money to have the wedding I want...But is 3 years too much time to plan a wedding... I've already started planning things...like a guest list and little things like finding things i like... i don't know... I just need some feedback from others' experience...thanks! btw my question is is 3 years too long of an engagement?

Well, my fiance and I would like to have a potluck wedding to cut on cost, and then just insist guests don't worry about going all out with wedding gifts, and just feeding us instead. Anyway, I was thinking of sending out maybe three nicely done recipe cards with invitations and requesting guests make one of the three dishes. Any thoughts on this? Is this too tacky, and should we just do the whole catered thing instead?

Well technically, I've had my "fairy tale wedding plan" since I was probably 9 or 10, but realistically, how far in advance of the date should a person really get into the plans and details?

If a guy had a broken engagement (exfiancee broke it off cause she only felt like he was a platonic brother figure to her)
Is it in poor taste for him to keep the engagment ring to give to a future new fiancee ?
Isnt that kinda tacky and weird ?

I work with my maid of honor. She wanted to invite people from work, and I'm not planning on inviting everyone. I just thought it would be rude to invite them when they're not coming to the wedding. But she doesn't see anything wrong with it. Am I right or wrong? It's not like I don't like these people or anything, I just have to keep our guest list down so we're inviting the people we're closest to to save on expenses.
