My own! My husband and I are very nontraditional but had a traditional Jewish wedding and shocked both our families. We both wore white and looked great in all the photos! We hired a klezmer band and they initiated a 20-minute hora and had people on the dance floor all night. We had a guest book table with a polaroid camera, film, paper, scissors, stickers, glue sticks, and other craft supplies as our guest book. People LOVED that! But the absolute best thing we did was to have a meet and greet cocktail party the night before the wedding. Both friends and family came and got to know each other, and when they met at the cocktail party for the wedding (which was before the ceremony in order to avoid anyone being late) they reconvened like old friends. It was a smashing success! Oh, and don't forget the morning brunch the next day!

Are you talking about good or bad? My friend got married a week after hs grad and the whole thing was a joke!! THe night before the wedding, the men all went out drinking (all underage) and all had girlfriends who warned them against it but they went out anyway. At the church before the wedding, the minister even made a comment because the men were all hungover and none of the women were talking to none of the men, so the entire wedding party was not talking. THe best man never showed - too drunk or hungover so they were short a man. The reception was held at a white trash falling down barn because they had no money. The bride and groom disappeared before they could even dance so they could do you know what and they were found a few hours later in the woods behind the barn - naked. The bride already had a kid so she left a little early to put the kid to bed while her new husband remained sleeping in the woods. One of the drunk uncles grabbed me in front of the brides mother and the mom accused me of asking for it so my boyfriend and I left. I learned later that the police were actually called out because of underage drinking being reported and they found out the kid that had been put to bed had been given a beer so he would sleep quicker and longer so the mom could spend time with the new husband. I lost touch with them but have learned that they divorced within a couple of years because she decided she liked women better then him. Does that count as memorable? ALso, if you would like, my sister got married in a shotgun sort of wedding by a friend who got himself ordained over the internet just for their wedding and he literally pulled a gun out after asking if anyone objected!!

Aside from my own and the one last summer that filed for divorce the day after the honeymoon was over my favorite was this past May.
The couple were Nancy and Dusty. Nancy and Dusty were 42 and marrying for the first time. She and Dusty had waited all their lives for each other and it was truly the sweetest day. Nancy's father had been very ill before the wedding and we were so frightened that he would pass away before the wedding day. He had even been in a wheelchair a couple of weeks before the wedding but that day he walked his daughter down the isle. She broke down when he walked in to see her for the first time before the wedding.
The bride walked down the isle to At Last by Etta James and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. AND the place was the most wonderful and still my favorite wedding venue. It is called Butler's Courtyard in League City, TX. They have an entire house, furnished in antiques for the bride and her girls to spend the day. No rush, no hassle. The management made certain the photographer (me!) got all the shots and even more! They had favorites that they told me about and made sure I got. I loved this place and this bridal couple and this whole day. You can see their wedding album here:

I think you will have to click on the slide show to make it begin.

My friend Lupe's because it was so beautiful. It was a really elegant but simple wedding. Everything about it was so simple that for the group dance with the bride's maids and groom's men they just practiced some cool swing moves and went free style. Not even a boring walts. I've gone to wedding's where the couple spent thousands of dollars to make everything look chunky and fluffy and what not and it was not nearly as beautiful as it was this time. I guess the key at a wedding is...less is better because all you really need to see the how much the couple loves each other. + they had the BEST mix in music, jazz, cumbia, salsa, slow...everything.

Other than my own I would have to say my step sister's was very memorable because she and her husband are very into rennaisance/medeval and the entire wedding including the guests were dressed in clothes from the period. It was complete with a friar for the pastor/priest, to fairies as the flower girl. It was so much fun. They even brought the groom out in shackles led by an executioner and anyone who objected to the wedding was to "speak now or be beheaded"! The wedding party even spoke in Old English. First time I had ever been to a themed wedding and it was very memorable.

My friend Ninas wedding in a beautiful English manor just outside of Manchester. It was so elegant, I felt like I had stepped back in time, and yet she brought in a great DJ from London each night and we dance until morning!
This is the manor she used. We all stayed three nights (at our own expense of course) http://www.kilworthhouse.co.uk/
2nd most memorable was on block Island, It was suppose to be on the beach but it rained like crazy. The groom and many of his guests are in the film industry and they built a "set" for the wedding in the hotel. It was incredibly beautiful! And it was amazing to watch them transform the space as well. This is the hotel they used. http://www.springhousehotel.com/

My own... We got married in Las Vegas and had a Las Vegas Themed reception.. I brought home casino buckets from the various casino's and my florist made them into centerpieces which my guest took home.. I also had underneath them green felt (Ace's, hearts, diamond's and spade's) a differnt on at each table.. There were also poker chips, dice and playing cards everywhere ! My card collector was a slot machine I made out of cardboard boxes, silver/gold mylar and empty large tape rolls I decorted ! It looked really really cool ! We even had an Elvis cardboard cut-out ! We had a really good time ...

i went to a wedding where the groom had minor cerebral palsy (enough that he was in a wheel chair). the bride sat in a nice chair for the ceremony. and then at the reception for their dance (this is the cutest part) they lifted the groom out of his wheel chair and he put his arms around the bride and she supported him and they swayed back and forth. so cute and they looked so adorable together.

My older brothers, he lived in London and I lived in Scotland, he invited all of his London friends, the majority of them were black families and they brought with them their music, I must say I had never heard the type of music they played and it was really good fun watching everyone dance, it was such a good reception seeing all the staid white Scottish people let their hair down and dance properly!!!
