I just got married, and want to send a little storybook album to both of our families. We took engagement pictures prior to the wedding pictures. Should I include both in the same album? Or are the engagement pictures just for my husband and I?

What stores did you register with? What items did you select?

For me, it feels so weird creating a registry, and I'm finding it very difficult mentally - lol - it feels like it's asking/expecting people to buy us stuff. But a lot of people want to know where we're registered, so I'm starting to feel like I should.

I think it would be helpful to me to see what other people have done.

I don't go shopping very often (we've been mostly saving money for our wedding), so I think part of it is that I'm shocked at how much everything costs. I had no idea comforters cost over $100, or that place settings were that expensive as well. All of this just seems so foreign to me.

Did you just pick one store and selected what you liked best from that store, or did you make several registries after shopping around for the best prices and finding the things you liked most?

Any help, advice, or encouragement would be greatly appreciated?

I have a coworker whos daughter is having a wedding shower and the whole office got 1 group invatation. There are a few people who work in this office who would probably get the girl a gift b/c they have worked with her mom for 15+ years and knew the girl as she was growing up. Well those few ladies now want to get a "group" present - basically so they dont have to spend as much on a individual gift! They are going to the shower (to give the gift) the rest of us are not. I dont even know the girl - and she has lived on her own and with her boyfriend for years - she doesnt even "need" things. How do I get out of having to give money for this?

I am meeting with the caterers as well as the person making our cake tomorrow for tastings. Do we need to tip them tomorrow or send them a thank you card?

Also, if you have any advice on questions we should ask... or what we should expect, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Thank you so much!

My sister has been engaged for 3 years and is getting married July 2008. Last year, I met my now fiance and we planned a wedding date for October 2008 (there are many reasons we have why we don't want to wait until 2009). My mom and sister are having a rough time with me wanting to get married then. They are saying that it is going to take away from my sister's wedding, when in retrospect, it will be the opposite, I feel. She is inviting about 200 people and my fiance and I only want about 50 people at the most. My mom doesn't want to pay for 2 weddings in one year, which I understand. However we want something very small and we are asking her to only pay for the reception. If we offer to have a church wedding next year in October (which we will pay for) and then we actually have the reception in April or May 2009 when she can actually pay for it, is that bad?

Hi!
So my question is: what are your opinions on being engaged at 20, whilst both partners are still studying?
My boyfriend & I have been together for a little over four years & as cliche as it may sound, know that we're 'the one' for each other. We want to get engaged soon & have a really long engagement because we want to be financially stable before we get married (finished uni, working full time, paying off a mortage & so on). Our belief is that getting engaged requires being emotionally committed & that financial stability isn't essential to get engaged - whereas it's definately essential for marriage.
We have a great relationship & our engagement will be a promise of commitment to each other, which is something we both want to do; do you think it is important to wait until we're financially set-up to do so?
What are your thoughts?
I'd really appreciate your input & opinions, but please - no snide remarks/unhelpful comments.
Thank you! :-)

I got engaged to my boyfriend 9 months ago and we have already set a date and decided on our colors and the general theme of the wedding. My fiances sister recently got engaged about 2 weeks ago. She has all of the same ideas for her wedding as I do, including the color, but it didn't matter too much to me because she had set her date for 5 months after mine. Well, once she found out that we have all the same ideas, she rescheduled her wedding date to just 4 WEEKS BEFORE MINE!!! I've thought about rescheduling to an earlier date, but not only do I not want to seem childish, I also received a FREE honeymoon from a family member as a gift that can only be taken in the month we had set. I really don't want to seem like a "copy-cat" wedding, and most of all I feel like her wedding will take most of the excitement out of mine! Any advice on what I should do??

Okay, so this may be a long post-My fiance` has 2 sisters and I have 2 brothers. My brothers are each 3 years older then his sisters, perfect right? Well we asked his sisters to be in the wedding and they agreedand were very happy/excited. But when asking my oldest brother he told me he would only be in my wedding if I agreed to have my father walk me down the aisle. Which since I have had a tough relationship with him is still under debate in my mind. Now, I do not know where to go from here. I do not want to consent to what my brother wants although I would love for him to be in the wedding. And to tell the truth I am very upset that he did not seem excited about being involved in my wedding, but he is my brother.
Please give me some advice.

Okay, I'm in a dilemma here. I have a friend who knows I have become a priestess for the religion he and I believe in. He wants me to perform his handfasting ritual. The only problem is that I am not legally able to perform the ceremony and sign the marriage certificate. Anyone know how I can achieve this?

I am having a sit down dinner at my reception. my fiance and i aren't exactly "close" with the pastor. We've only had 3 counseling sessions with her plus of course the rehearsal and service. I know not all Officiants come to the receptions but we are asking and if she say's that she will, where would be a good place to seat her and her husband? I don't want to seat them with the other venders(photographers, videographer, Dj). You get the idea. Oh, that brings up another point, where do they sit?

Does anyone know of an officiant (non-denominational or Unitarian) who will come to a private residence in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, over Labor Day, to perform a simple wedding ceremony. Can you provide details as to cost, etc. Time is a factor; please answer quickly. Thank you.

I have recently met a girl. Unfortunately, we did not get enough time to talk openly while we were together and due to that fact that we live 300-miles away form each other. However, I was told by her very close friend that she really likes me and want to marry me. Likewise, I personally get some impression form my fiancé that she is going to get me a proposal of getting married. Moreover, I myself really like her and want to marry her too. Since I got the message form her friend, I topped to talk to her because I do not know what to ask her and she might asked me something which I will be answer wrongly or stupidly. Therefore, if I know some clues which means the most probable questions she might asked me then I would be able to get ready those answer.

I don’t know what types of question I would most likely to be asked by her? And what types of question shall I asked her? and also what I should not asked her at all. Furthermore, I am not handsome but she is very beautiful and 8 years younger then me in that cases I am bit weak as well.

I really need help in this matter please help me if anyone can.

about a year ago,me(33), mom, sis(35) and my niece(17) rented a house together. after i had all my stuff moved in i tried helping them w/ theirs but they are all procrastinators and every day would wait till i had stuff to do(like go to work, exercise, spend time w/fiance etc.) to ask for my help. so, when i told my sister one day i wouldnt help her b/c she waited till noon to get her butt in gear, we got in a huge fight some very hurtful stuff was said by both of us and i ended up moving out. she seems to think i owe her an appology for something and as far as i'm concerned the whole thing can just be forgotten. i'm sure at some point we will be more than just civil w/ each other and i dont want to regret not having her share this special time with me. but on the other hand i've done nothing wrong and dont think i should appoligize or ask her forgiveness. what would you do?

My fiance is half Mexican (his father's side) and his last name is Perez. He does not know his father, but kept this name as a child instead of his mom's last name. Will everyone automatically assume I am Mexican because of my last name, I work mostly through email and phone. Same for our future kids who will only be 1/4 Mexican.
