This might be a silly question. I have been married for a year & 4 months and have always worn my rings the same. I put on my engagement ring first becayuse I got that first then my wedding band on top. I was told the other day by my cousin that I was wearing my ring wrong! Is there a wrong or right way to wear your engagement ring and wedding band?

I will be wearing a button-down shirt and either dockers or slacks to a casual wedding. Does it matter what color they are? It will be mostly outdoors too.

I ordered Hurricane lamps from them that they advertise as "glass" but they are plastic. In addition to this, they first canceled my order without telling me and I had to reorder. When I called to complain and ask them to rerun the order the representative hung up on me. Now, when I called to complain about the hurricanes being plastic and not glass as advertised the woman was less than friendly and offered me no assistance. My options are to return or not. I am going to keep them because I probably would have bought them even if they were plexi-glass, but the point is they should advertise as such. Thank you for letting me vent and share some insight with other brides out there. Happy planning!

My sister-in-law is due to be married this year (technically) but they are having a formal ceremony next year (on the wedding anniversary) so, She asked her sister (my other sister-in-law) to be her Maid of Honor, but then today called me and asked if
I could plan the bridal Shower???
I always thought it was the MOH's responsibility...am I wrong??

Last year when me and my hubby got married we didn't have an "official wedding shower" but we had a small get together an my maid of honor planned it.

I don't even know where to BEGIN!!!! BTW It's next August

My son's wedding was this past weekend. Some of the guests did not leave a gift or card with check or money. It's possible that someone may have walked out with the card and it was stolen as it does happen. Some of the guests invited are close work employees who drive down together and did have to stay over a few nights in a hotel at their own expense. Do we say anything in case their card is missing or just chalk it up since they did incur additional expenses.

Some people say that inviting someone to be in your wedding is a show of how they feel about you. Do you have an opinion on what factors go into selecting participants to be in a wedding and what inferences (if any) are involved in being exluded or included? Also, words of wisdom for the person who is asked to participate and the person who is not? And also, the person doing the selecting? Obviously, the person getting married can choose who they want, but looking at the overall scheme of things, the choices could affect relationships for years to come. Any thoughts?

I've been married for 6 years. We didn't have a wedding 6 years ago, we got married in a court house and had a little party after the ceremony. I was upset about it for years, I was only 20 when we got married and I always wanted to have a dream wedding. My husband promised me that we would have a nice wedding. So we had a church wedding 4 months ago and it was a disaster. My stepdaughter fainted during the ceremony, my hair stylist didn't show up, the sound system didn't work at the church, food was not served on time at the reception, our pictures and video didn't turn out, etc. I put so much time and effort in this wedding! I made my own pew bows and I asked a friend to tie them to the pews but she forgot. There were no place cards ( I spent a month making them!). We never had a wedding night either, my husband fell asleep both times!I am still devastated. We had two weddings and I do not even have pictures! My husband says that we could have a third wedding.. How do I get over it?

My husband and I have decided to renew our vows every year in a different state. We were married this year in Michigan and it was beautiful.

We are looking for unique ideas for a renewal ceremonies in historic or famous places for each state. Examples are under the arch in St. Louis, MO or at the Alamo in Texas, or Times Square in NYC or Niagara Falls, NY.

We are just looking for Ideas. We need to start planning for next year...especially if we are going to Hawaii!!!!!

We are catering our wedding reception and we need plates. Renting them through a party rental place would require us to wash about 200 plates before returning them. Are there any good options for high end disposables that would match our atmosphere?

My sister is having a small wedding and is very strict on how many guest can attend because of the cost for each guest to attend. My sister and her fiancee had other guest waiting on the invitees to RSVP so that they could fill in the spots of anyone who couldn't originally attend. A guest responded late by a week, but has been replaced. What is the proper thing to do in this case? I say my sister needs to verbally tell her not to come so she doesn't show up thinking it is ok to come. It is 33 dollars a plate and they are already over budget ,plus the wedding caters expect payment right after the reception. I do not want my sister to have to worry about guest who didn't RSVP showing up. How should this be handled?

I just got engaged. My boyfriend and I decided that we were going to get married in my hometown. My hometown is 85 miles from his. Which is like a 45 minutes to hour drive. Sometimes not that long depending on the traffic. His mom called me last night asking why we have to get married up here. She said that she doesnt want to come up here. My city is smaller than their's and she say it is to small. The smaller the city the cheaper things cost. The bigger the city the more it cost. That is how I see it. She said that she wasn't coming to the wedding, she was just going to send us a gift. Tradition says get married in the bride's hometown. When her and my future father-in-law got married they didn't have that problem, because they live in the same city. What do you guys think should get married in my hometown or his's?

I am having a really big wedding as in like about 300+ guest coming to my wedding. And Im trying to make it as personal (yet elegant) as possible. I thought of having pictures of me and my fiance from baby pictures to present day pictures placed at the table where the place cards are at I have also thought of maybe having pictures of my parents wedding day as well as his parents wedding day pictures. Both of our parents are still married so it wouldnt be awkward for them. Do you think that would be nice?

I used to be friends with a couple of sisters who I met in high school and became closer to afterwards, but over the last 1.5 years, I have last all contact with the older sister and the younger one (both are around my age) has not responded to my emails. I don't harrass her, but a month ago I let her know I was engaged and wanted to catch up.
When I called the workplace of the oldest one, I was told that she no longer worked there :( I pretty much don't even know if she's alive!
The younger sister won't email me back at all. I sometimes think to stop by her parents house (the oldest one still lives there) but her dad doesn't like me much and her parents don't speak much english either. I don't want to cause drama.
I feel like I've exhausted all options in attempting to contact them, I don't even know if we're friends anymore. In fact, I'm not even sure they still LIVE where they used to anymore! What should I do? Should I keep trying or let things be?
