My husband and I have decided to renew our vows every year in a different state. We were married this year in Michigan and it was beautiful.
We are looking for unique ideas for a renewal ceremonies in historic or famous places for each state. Examples are under the arch in St. Louis, MO or at the Alamo in Texas, or Times Square in NYC or Niagara Falls, NY.
We are just looking for Ideas. We need to start planning for next year...especially if we are going to Hawaii!!!!!

These ideas are great!!! Thanks!!
I hope Brian isn't married!! My husband loved the idea....he is so excited and wants to document each trip and all of the family is invited...sorta like our annual family vacation/wedding/family reunion. AND, we really want historical or interesting sites for the children to learn. This is 50 years of marriage!!!

I have to admit, this is one of the coolest things I've ever heard!
How about the Rock & Roll hall of fame in Ohio
Arizona - either Sedona or the Grand Canyon - stunning.
Jackson Square - New Orleans, LA
Three Rivers in Pittsburgh - or even Mt. Washington (ride up the incline - gorgeous!)
Sanibel Island in Florida. There's a spot where Sanibel & Captiva Islands meet that has the most spectacular sunsets I've ever seen.
I agree with the poster that said for Nevada - you gotta go Elvis! :)
California - how about the castle at Disneyland, or at the foot of the "hollywood" sign?
Wow - this is fun to think of!!
Kentucky - Churchill Downs
Tennessee - Graceland
I'll edit if I can come up with anything else....

In Hawaii take a trip on the road to Hanna. There are tons of places along the road that perform short marriage ceremonies at the bases of waterfalls and such. If you ride a motorcycle it is the best way! You can rent them. If you come here to Connecticut, you can get married on the patio of Gilette's castle overlooking the CT river, or there are many nice beaches around as well. I got married in Westbrook at Water's Edge Resort, but it's expensive and really for more of a formal wedding. Good luck, have fun!

You know, I sort of love this idea.
When you come to California, where I live, you might consider checking into using one of the missions. We have them up and down the state, and many are used as wedding locations. I'm pretty sure you could have a vow renewal in one, too. Mission Sonoma and Mission Santa Barbara are particularly pretty and well-preserved.
Other good thoughts: wineries (especially if you find yourself choosing Sonoma/Napa), Disneyland, and I don't know if they do weddings, but Sutter's Mill (site of the first discovery of gold in California) is now a state park. You might be able to work something out there.
Have fun planning your trips! I think this sounds like a lot of fun.

In New Hampshire, you can take the Cog Railway to the top of Mt. Washington (tallest peak in the Northeast and the home of the world's worst weather--world record 231 mph wind in 1934!)
There is a beautiful observatory up there with some AMAZING views. Don't worry, the weather is often nice in the summer and fall :)

What a wonderful idea! You're a lucky woman.
Times Square is so crowded you won't be able to stand still for 3 minutes without someone bumping into you. How about the Top of the Rock? Click the link below and see what you think.

There is a beautiful place called Saint Mary's in Glacier National Park. It's in Montana and right next to the Canadian Border. It is amazingly gorgeous and remote while still being near a couple of small cities.

In Pennsylvania, at the Liberty Bell...or at the Grand Canyon Of Pennsylvania (but that would have to be in Fall for full effect) or at Bushkill Falls...they have a waterfall called bridal veil falls!
