Weddings - August 2007

Anybody have any good ideas for affordable ways to decorate an outdoor wedding venue?We will getting married outside in summer.The venue has a gazebo and a wide cement area for seating.What ideas do you have to make it more charming?Also how whould you decorate a small reception area that only provides tables and chairs?my colors will be purple and silver.
I want to provide food for my guests about 40 people any good ideas?we are thinking about just a light lunch but not sure what whould be good to serve.

I'm pretty sure most of the pictures I've seen of newlyweds, the bride is usually on the left side. What is the norm? I have a big dark bruise on my left upper arm and my wedding gown is strapless so I don't want it showing up in the pictures and I really don't wanna put make-up on it. My mom and I sat down and came up with this centerpiece today as an option for my upcoming October wedding. It is a "funkin" (fake pumpkin) with leaves carved into it, a fake flower floral arrangement at the top, heart jewels dangling in the center of each cut out leaf and a fake flickering candle at the bottom. My friend is a photographer and is trying this out. Check out the site and and let me know what you think. There are some really neat pics of brides after their honeymoon who don't feel the need to store the dress. Some even get it cleaned and it is fine.

My Fiance & I were originally suppose to get married on Aug. 4 07' and I had cold feet & we cancelled our original date.

Everything is going great and since we rescheduled our Wedding for 9 mo's later but now my Folks are leary about helping financially. Keep in mind--they LOST NO MONEY BEFORE!!! All deposits carried over-luckily. What can I do to reassure them they don't have anything to be worried about! I know this is who I want to spend the rest of my life with. I'm bummed they don't have enough faith me to realize it too.

Mature advice only. I'm hoping someone else has gone through this and can help me.

I have lived with my boyfriend for 3 years now. He has not yet proposed to me, although he has promised me about a year and a half ago that he would get a ring. I'm in the first stages of my wedding planning, and thus far my only decision is that I somehow want to incorporate a brown color scheme into my wedding.

Though I think they're all very beautiful, I'm sick of seeing brown + pink, blue, or cream and would like to do something a little different. I'm partial to any shade of green or purple (would love to incorporate both but have no idea how), and I like the brown + red combo.

Any ideas? Suggestions?
