well, you can save up and have a bigger wedding later or you can just scale back some or go to the JP.

Check out how to get the marriage license at site above. Phone number for the courthouse is also there. Call them and set up a date/time to be married.
My usual advice is do what you can afford. Or work and save up your money until you can have the wedding you want.
But . . . a bride can buy a regular pretty dress or a white suit. A bride can borrow a dress if necessary. One does not have to wear a gown and veil costing hundreds. Have a small bouquet. Marry at the courthouse. Stop by a photography studio and have a couple of photos taken afterwards.
Then maybe the following weekend, have a BBQ at your home. Or if you cannot afford to feed everyone, serve cake and fruit punch on a Sunday afternoon. Invite friends and family to celebrate with you then.
One can buy a sheet cake very inexpensively at Sam's, Walmart, or the local grocery store bakery. Or you can bake a cake yourself. Good luck to you.

If I were you I would go on ebay.com and look for a second hand wedding gown. I've seen such good prices on used wedding gowns so you may be able to get a gown for under $50. Also a consignment shop that specializes in formal and bridal. Check that out as you can find a good deal there. As far as a wedding cake. Maybe you know someone who is a cake decorator. If so, ask if she would make you the cake and you will pay her. It is sure to be less than a fancy bakery. Otherwise I would just buy a white chiffon dressy dress and have a simple informal wedding.

If you can't afford either, I say don't get married.
I understand that cost of a wedding is not what's important. However, you have to wonder if you are financially ready if you can't even afford either. A dress can be cheap, $200 and a cake can be less then $100. If you can't spare $300, then maybe you aren't ready to get married.
What if you had an emergency and needed $300? You wouldn't have it. If you get married and start a family, that burden will be greater.
Is this why your family might not support your marriage? Do they believe you are not ready? Are you too young?
If one of those answers is yes or even maybe, then you should listen to your family. Wait to get married.

Go the for cheap and neat. Unlike what lots of people think a beautiful wedding does not have to cost a fortune. Just a lot of imagination. I would say get together with a wedding planner or just somebody who's good at stuff like that and get their advice.
Do you have friends/family members who sew wedding dresses/bake wedding cakes? they might give you a discount.
tip i got from somebody:Make sure you spend more money on things that last like photos rather than things that no one will remember anyway.

Wedding dress can be any dress you want. It doesn't have to come from a shop.
As far as the cake less than 5 bucks will get you a few boxes of mix and icing. Go for it.
Don't fall for wedding industry hype that you need to have all these bells and whistles. At the end of the day we are all going to be just as married. If you truly want it having all of the fluff won't matter.....besides you can always plan a huge vow renewal for your 10th to make up for it.

The cake is easy, either make one yourself or buy a nice sheet cake. Some grocery store bakeries even will do wedding cakes. You don't have to spend a fortune if you don't have it!
As for the dress, visit some consignment stores in your area. You can find brand new clothes, including wedding gowns cheap and some still have tags on them
Ebay and craigslist.com are also great places to find a deal on a wedding dress. People buy them then change their minds on color or style and sel the one they don't want. Or they wore it and do not want to keep it.
Good luck!

Yes, you can. You don't need to spend thousands of dollars. My wedding dress was $120.00 but you would never have been able to tell. Buy a sheet cake or two for the wedding cake. THey will decorate it however you want. Nothing else matters except for the fact that you are with the man that you love. Everything else will take care of itself.

If you can't afford a wedding dress and/or a wedding cake you shouldn't be getting married.

If I had my wedding to do over, I'd have it in a park, close friends only, barefoot in nature. Weddings are about you two not cakes and impressive dresses. Re-think why you're getting married. If you want a party you don't have to get married for that.

You could raise money by selling stuff on ebay. You could always buy a bridesmaid dress, but in white....or buy a dress off ebay. Some supermarkets make cakes that probaly are cheaper then bakeries. Sorry to hear about your situation, but dont let it stop you from having your big day....it can be done!!! Good luck and Congrads :)
