My sister is getting married next month. Her fiancé's sister is slow because of something very similar to fetal alcohol syndrome. She is not a bridesmaid and is very aware that my other sister and I are. She is not competent enough to read something and has no musical talents. My sister really wants go give her a job, and one that is visible for others to see. Nothing like the guest-book or anything. Any ideas? Anything is appreciated!

The groom, best man and groomsman will all be in black tuxedos. I'll be in white of course, so I think my daughter in black (she is the only one I'll have standing up with me) would look fine. What do you think?

Sunflower bouquets for the girls, sunflower tucked in the pocket of the jackets for the guys.

The man I'm marrying has a 14 year old son and it's only right for him to be the best man. My daughter is also 14 and she is going to be my matron of honor. We don't want to leave my son out so I was going to ask him to give me away. But then he wouldn't be up in front during the ceremony and therefore wouldn't be in those pictures. I think that would make him feel left out when he looked and the photos. So is he too old to be the ring bearer? That way he can stand up front the whole time.

Im still young, but me and my boyfriend have been toghter 2 years. We've talked about getting married, and i would love to marry him - just not now. Maybe when im in my mid 20's. We havnt got engaged, but everythings been planned, spending a life togther, hes even asked me what type of rings i like and things...im only dreaming for the moment, but i think his intentions and expectations are a lot sooner than i expected. Do u think im wrong to hold things off? Or should i make a commitment now?

Seriously, I've always wondered, and I've never found out how. I know they have to use law and a judge, correct me if I'm wrong, but what about the real ceremony?

My fiance is from Kansas and I am from Texas. I will be moving to Kansas, which is where I think we'll get married, but I'm not sure the best way to include my friends and family from Texas if we do that. Does anyone have any advice about how to handle this long-distance love n' nuptials situation?

My boyfriend proposed in May and we plan to get married in 2009. My friend has just announced that she's now getting married in the same year a few months later. I know I'm being childish but I'm a bit annoyed about it. Have I turned into a crazy bride-to-be?!

I like the idea of doing something from a romantic movie except not the dirty dancing one which has been done to death. Any suggestions?? or just a unique funky dance will be helpful

My fiancee and I are making the mix cd for our wedding (we aren't having a dj just the cd) and we were thinking about putting like 30 seconds of the Funeral Song before the Wedding March (before I walk down the aisle) Do you think that would be funny? (Keep in mind our colors are black and red so this isn't going to be a 'normal' wedding)

I am mexican-american, grew up observing my parents. It was'nt untill I became an adolecent that I realized how badly my father treated my mom, through time he has evolved his way of thinking. No physical abuse simply verbal and emotianal. My dad has treated my mom like his slave all his life. That is how his mom was treated too.I'm 19, what if one day I get married? I love my culture but I simply don't want to date it. Is my thinking wrong? I've dated a caucasian guy...he was well educated, cooks, cleans, has patience and most importantly religiouse. I don't want to critizice my own race but I've lived through it and to say the truth:most mexican men drink a lot, they want the women home at all times and treat her inferior.I realize it's possible to found in all races.

I'd enjoy to hear personal experiences especially from the inter-racial people.

We "converse" as neigbours do, but I wouldn't say we are great friends, and we tend to talk about work/dogs/neighbourhood .. as that's what we have in common. Months and months ago..she said her wedding invitations were ready and one was there for me. As far as I'm aware, the etiquette for wedding invitations are that you get them 6 weeks prior to the wedding. On her last phone call (ages ago) she said "ah i'll get round to getting it to you.. but at least you know the date"!!!NOW..my dilemma! I'm feeling slightly peeved with this! I feel like I'm an extra to make up numbers, at the wedding and to supply a gift! Am I wrong to think it's "rude" not to have received an invitation by now? It's not going in the post as she lives a few yards from me..so it's not lost in the post.
Am I wrong to feel, it's not my place and go and pick up the invitation from her house?? At what point do I just decide "not to go"? Sorry peeps but this is bugging me..any advice appreciated! x

The most unique thing I've ever seen at a wedding was a candy buffet (I know this is becoming increasingly popular) but at the time it was sooo WOW! People couldn't stay away, including myself!!

Well after 7 years of marriage, I finally got my inlaws video of my wedding which I had never seen! Well, on the video my hubby's uncle was the cameraman. He was "interviewing" friends and family before the wedding and asking if they had any words of advice for us... all my family and friends said things like "congratulations!" and "I'm so happy for you!" ; words of encouragement. Whenever someone on hubby's side was asked, there was always some response like "RUN now" or "it's not too late to back out now!" like in a joking( but maybe serious undertone ) manner. Even my sis in law when asked if she had anything to say to us she said "not anything I can say on camera"

How should I feel about this? I always felt like they didn't like me ; patronize me but talk about me behind my back, and hubby tries to reassure me or protect me, but now what should I think about this?

My wedding will be taking place in the U.S and my 2 best girlfriends live out of the country and they won't be coming; I have two good friends that live in the U.S that I've asked to be my bridesmaids and I was planning to have the two of them walk in the bridal party, plus the ringbearer boy and also some girls (about 5) including my sister, who is 13 years old. The problem is that I've been having a very hard time with my chosen bridesmaids in matters of choosing their bridesmaids dresses, in other words I can't seem to have them agree with each other, and then when one finds a dress, the other one doesn't like it. It's getting to a point where it's very annoying and it's making me loose a lot of time. So I was thinking, would it be OK and would it look nice if I only have the ringbearer, and then just girls, the oldest being 13 years old, walking in my bridal party?

My fiancee and I are starting to plan our wedding, and we wanted to get some opinions before finalizing plans. Our wedding date is June 20th (which will be very hot in our part of the country) and we really want to have an outdoor wedding. To make this tolerable for ourselves and our guests, we really have to have the ceremony around 10:00 a.m. The problem is that my fiancee would really like to have a traditional night-time reception with dancing, etc...Would it be unacceptable to have a several-hour lull between our ceremony and the reception (we are planning that the guests will all have hotel rooms in which to spend this time; we would also socialize with them)??? BTW, we are having a ceremony that includes only our immediate family and friends, the reception will be the time for everyone we know to celebrate with us, so those people obviously wouldn't have to wait. Please give honest opinions, we don't want to offend any of our friends or family.

What about 17 or 18 as well? And how long from getting engaged to the actual wedding? And how long should you know each other before you get engaged or married? If 16 is too young how old should you be? I know this is a lot of question but im just curious

Do people have to do both?
I heard that if you get married at the courthouse the license or whatever you get there is only good for a short while until you actually get married in a church.
Is that true?
so what is the difference?
