you can get it refitted. they sorta messed up my enhancer ring, it was not the right size and it was the week OF my wedding and it still got back in time. all hail the power of scary mommas.

For about a week before (up until the big day), stay away from salt and salty foods. Keep yourself in areas with good air conditioning, low humidity levels, and take cool baths starting about 72 before the ceremony. Right before you walk down the aisle, put oil (olive, canola, vegetable) on your ring finger from the base until the point on your finger where the ring starts to get tight. Although, I don't recommend this one, b/c guests will be holding your hand after the ceremony to see the ring, and they'll wonder why your hand is so greasy.

Another tip: have your fiance put the ring on only to the point where it "slips on easily". The guests won't be able to see that he didn't slide the ring all the way up, all they see is that he didn't spend 120 seconds trying to force the ring onto your finger. After the ring exchange, when the minister is talking, adjust the ring yourself so that it sits on your finger where you want it.

BTW- if someone else can "slip the ring on easily" (esp in summer), the ring is too big. When you wear a ring for an extended amount of time, you finger actually becomes smaller in the place where the ring rests.

My wife does, I do not. This is quite normal but customs vary. I do not wear any jewelry and as others have said many men do not want to wear rings especially if working with weapons, machinery, vehicles, etc. A ring is great if you want to wear one but especially for men it is not necessary and means nothing about the strength of the marriage. Some women and some men will try to pick up married men or women even more than single ones, for various reasons, and someone wanting to 'cheat' could always take it off, so it is far from being a necessary sign of fidelity or a way of 'enforcing' it! More seriously it is a matter of differing customs, and does not mean greater or lesser love or a stronger or weaker marriage.

yikes. blame this on the summer heat!!! Here is something I've noticed:
when i get warm, when i have my hands below my heart (such as if i fell asleep in a car for a while), and if i don't drink enough water, my fingers seem to swell. There is always the option of brining the ring to a jeweler and having them either stretch it or add to it. good luck, i'm sure it'll all be beautiful!

Take the ring to a jeweler and have them re-size it, tell them that you need it rushed. I'm sure they will be able to accommodate you. Be careful not to make it so big that when winter comes the ring will slip off. Everyone's fingers are larger in the summer.

I had the same problem. My engagement ring was snug, but fine and when I tried my wedding band on it made it so much worse, and my fiance would have had to shove it on my finger. I went to the jeweler and he made them a little bigger and they're perfect! I'm so glad I did it instead of suffering with a tight ring. Tell them the circumstances and I'm sure they can get it done!

Piece of cake. Take them too the place you purchased them from. They usually will give 1 or 2 free ring adjustments. Let them know you are on a deadline for the marriage but if you go quickly, it usually only takes a week to do them. If you got them from a store that doesn't do adjustments, then find a jeweler that will do it in a week.

You should be able to get it resized in time, 3 weeks is plenty of time, they can rush it for you. Otherwise, run some extra moisturizer on your hands on your wedding day. Good Luck!

well food to stay away from are anything salty!!! and if you are working out such as running always keep your hands above your waist but below your heart. the hands on a females tend to swell when our bodies intake too much salt.
But...
the best thing to do is to just get it resized!
good luck!

if it has already been sized and your fingers have just swollen because of the weather maybe lay off salt it can cause bloating, you might also try soaking your finger in ice water right before cold makes swelling go down, I'd hate for you to go back and get it re-sized again for it to be too big one the weather isn't so yucky.

You can your ring sized the same day you take it in. Go to the mall. Drop it off at a jeweler. Do some shopping. Go back to pick it up.
