In the last 6 months I have gotten invited to 3 different weddings for people I do not even know! My husband does not know them, I even asked my Mom thinking maybe it is some relative, but she didn't recognize the names either. Does this happen to everyone? Are people sending random invitations hoping people will send them cash? I find it very strange.

ok we both live together and work full time with only one bathroom.Since we both work different hrs this is never a problem. But sometimes i have to work the same hrs as him then it is.I think 1 can be in the shower and 1 at the sink then switch and just work around each other. My bf thinks i should get up earlier than him get ready then just hang around the house till i have to go so he can have the bathroom to himself.Well i told him he should be the one to get up early if he wants the bathroom to himself but he said why should i change my routine your the one with the changed work schedule.

What preparations are needed?
Do I have to buy a dress to wear at it or is there a way I can just rent it at the temple?
(I have no interest in actually wanting a perfect wedding, I would just like to get married and have the ceremony be over with so we can start our life together.)

The building is 118ft on each side and the ceiling is about 30ft high...I wanted the canopy to gather somewhat in the middle and then flow out. If you have any suggests as to what to put in the middle of the ceiling I would greatly appreciate it as well. I need to know what type of material to use and how much. Also if you have any pictures I would appreciate it. Thanks!

If you stop responding to BRIDEFROMHELL, whether she is 75 and loaded, or 15 and her parents just make ends-meat; she will stop posting questions because you will not feed into her enjoyment of being confronted. She is just antagonizing the ladies on here and you are responding like she wants. Stop giving her the pleasure she is getting out of this and answer the questions for the gals/guys who genuinely came here for help. Thank You

Okay, so I know a lot of you don't like it when kids go to weddings...That is not what this question is about, so please don't tell me that they shouldn't be there.

We're talking about my daughter's wedding here...She is very family oriented, and as the first of her generation, she has a lot of young cousins. In addition, she works as a nanny, so the kids she sees every day are very important to her, and she wants to have all of them come to the wedding.

Our current plan is to have a corner of the reception hall dedicated to kids activities...All of the kids will have complete access to their parents, and their parents will WHOLEHEARTEDLY be expected to ensure their kids are behaving appropriately.

That said, what games/activities should we include for them? I'm thinking "Pin The Veil On The Bride" could be fun...is that too weird? We'll probably also have some coloring available, as well as a few age appropriate board games. Any other suggestions?

since shes been engaged shes turned into a complete bridezilla. she constantly complains when she doesnt get what she wants and will not talk about anything that doesnt involve her or her wedding. im getting married the following may, and weve always had an unspoken agreement that i would be her maid of honor and she would be mine. recently, she sent me a nasty email telling me how bad of a friend i was for hanging out with a good friend of mine who she doesnt like, then followed that up saying that she was sorry if i was mad, but that she meant what she said i shouldnt be mad at her anymore. i never said anything to her, figuring it would blow over. a few days ago she emailed me again to say that a friend of hers (that she doesnt like and talks sh*t about) from college wants to participate in the wedding and that i pretty much need to babysit and let her stay w/ me (ive never met her). i haven't seen her in months. i dont want to be in her wedding, or have her in mine. what to do?

I will be the lady in white. So I am trying to pick out colors. I am thinking maroon but can't think of another. I would like maroon and white flowers. Or maybe even a dark purple. Any ideas? The wedding is this Sept. 2nd. 2007.

My fiance offered to pay for his mother's flight and hotel for our wedding, but it's going to set us back about $800 and the only way we can afford it is if we take out a new credit card, but I don't want to start off our marriage in debt. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Thank you.

I have only been engaged 2 months, but we live together and I am providing for his 2 daughters (they don't see their mum) yet when I asked last night if we can discuss our wedding he won't. I wanted us to get married summer 2008, but he said that maybe we can get married in 3 years. I am confused now as he wants me to be a mum to his daughters, yet he doesn't want to be my husband?

My co-workers are planning a wedding shower for me and I need some ideas as to what items I should include on my registry. The stores that I plan on registering at are Bed, Bath and Beyond, Wal-Mart, and Kohl's.

We got into an argument last Saturday night and he said
"Give me my ring back"
I said "You gave it to me, its my ring."
"Well I bought it. Give it to me."

So he came over to me, ripped the ring off my finger, and wouldn't let me leave the room. After he sat there for awhile, he forced the ring back on my finger and expected me to forgive him. I ended up sleeping on my counch (in my own apartment) just so he'd leave me alone.
He says he is sorry, he was just being stupid kuz he was mad and had been drinking.

What should I do?

I really love this style- I like the one with the ribbons that get glued into the sides and then you tie it for the front.
My colors would be pink and brown.

Anyone buy this style before?

Our niece on my husband's side of the family got married sometime late last summer . They told people about the wedding 3 months after they were married. We were also told that they only wanted to have the people that meant the most to them at their wedding (immediate family and close friends) I'm assuming. Anyway when we found out that they were married and we were not invited we got a little ticked off and just carried on with life. Now, all of a sudden we have received an invitation to a wedding "celebration" being held 3 hours away from us, the celebration is only a few hours long and a cash bar. We (my Husband and I) are both feeling like the only reason we are being invited to this celebration almost a year after they got married is because they want a gift. We declined to go, we feel like if we were not important enough to be asked to the actual wedding or at least be told about it, instead of waiting for three months, then why are we important now. What do you think?

I've posted this before, but I'm hoping to get more suggestions

I'm 26, and I'm marrying a 43 yr. old man with two daughters. The girls have been part of my life for the past two years now...they are with us every other weekend.

We are including them in the ceremony, they will be part of our "Unity Sand ceremony" (instead of a unity candle), and at some point during the wedding, I'm going to give them each a piece of jewelry (The 13 yr old is getting a necklace, the 11 yr old is getting a charm with a charm bracelet).

As part of giving the jewelry to the girls, I intend on explaining why we picked those pieces of jewelry. I also want to give some sort of vows/promises to the kids..but I have no idea what to say.

I want to recognize the fact that I'm not just marrying their Dad...I'm becoming part of their family. They will be the only children I'll ever have.

I need suggestions on vows...ideas on what to say...or tell me if you have done this in your own wedding..

How much money should I give to my aunt/uncle/cousin/brother/milkman/podiatrist's wedding?

How do I ask for money in my wedding invitations, and how do I do a Dollar Dance and Dollar Tree?

How old should I be before I get married? Am I old enough/young enough/ready?

Why won't my bridesmaids/guests/family/friends do everything they can to spoil me and shower me with gifts and attention on my special day?

I was born under a full moon at 12:35am with an extra toe and my birthdate is 01/01/85. When will I find someone to marry me?

Ahh...the joys of Yahoo Answers.

So, real questions...What is the average age of regular answerers here in the Weddings section? I love Yahoo Answers...but does anyone else get frustrated with the same questions over and over again?

I keep seeing in Answers, brides being told to do anything they want for their weddings/receptions because "it's your day sweetie, no one else counts!" Is there anything a bride should pull back on, or does anything truly go; regardless of manners, taste, or consideration?

My brother is basically an Athiest, and I am pretty sure she believes in God. They both know where I stand spiritually, but asked me anyway because I am a good public speaker (have worked as a TV reporter, etc.).

I told them I will do it. Did I make the right choice?
