Look at some fall colors, and see if there is anything you like. I think a deep redish purple would be beautiful!

I think maroon and white are fine....you could also try some type of yellow/gold flower, that would really stand out. Just make sure it matches what is on the Dress Blues.
BTW I wouldn't do dark purple.

Maroon, white and blue will be three sharp contrasts. What about maroon and a soft buttermint yellow (you know, that yellow that is just barely yellow at all and almost white but not ivory b/c it has cool tones instead of warm tones). Or sage. There's lots of greenery available in the sage family. Or how about copper since it's a fall wedding? Go with white if that's what you really like, even. It's your big day.
Why not go to the ribbon section of a store and test what looks good together before making a decision?

I think the dark purple would look awesome with the dress blues, perhaps with navy tuxes?
I'm biased though b/c dark purple is my favorite color. Your maroon idea would look beautiful too.

Semper Fi gal! I just married me a Marine MYSELF! *my groomsman were in tuxedos and my hubby donned his oh so handsome dress blues. a red pallete is your best bet. The uniform is quite busy *compared to a tux. so you dont really want to incorporate another color. *these green/purple girls dont know the uniform. Red/Maroon looks very elegant and so romantic. I will e-mail you the photographer website with the photos of our wedding!
(just saw you dont allow email.. i'll add the info at the bottom of this then!) our flowers were roses with white stephanotis. please let me know what you think.

Since the dress blues (May I assume you're talking Navy DB's?) are technically black, maroon will go quite nicely. I'm also making the assumption that the groomsmen will be wearing BLACK tuxes.
I thought that your problem would have been the inconsistency of dress, to which I was going to tell you that my husband wore his DB's to two brothers' weddings and he looked VERY distinguished.
Best wishes.

I know you'll be in white, but if everyone else is wearing such DARK colors, you'll really stick out more than you should!
Find out exactly what colors he is wearing! Hopefully, a traditional black!
Your bridesmaids should always be a light color (in my opinion!) I wouldn't really think that maroon or purple would look anything other than tacky. (Sorry, mpo!) Just find out your color schemes and make sure they mesh well with the other colors!

Oooohh, how about emerald green? It's a formal color and would look good with the navy blue. So would your burgundy/maroon.

I like the deep purples, but dont go so deep it looks black, it will make him looked washed out. If it was me I would have the men in blue tuxes also to match his (as best as you can). Black and blue just dont look good together to me. You could also trya lighter (dont think baby boy blue) blue but brighter.

I might be wrong, but depending on which branch of the military your fiance is in, his dress blues might be black, blue or green. I would try and find something to compliment whatever colors he has to wear otherwise you're going to clash!
