Im so confused! thanx for ur answers xxx

She does know it is on the way eventually but I want to be smooth about it. She doesn't really wear jewelry that I can borrow. Thanks for the help on this one.

At the end of the ceremony, does our officiant have to introduce us to the crowd?" (ie "Ladies and gentlemen it's my pleasure to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Smith") I am hyphenating my name, and since we won't have the same last name I think this would sound weird. Any thoughts?

Is it for religion or they are just too cheap to pay for booze?

I think it's tacky and I don't think they should be wasting their money on a wedding- unless your Tom Cruise and have money to burn. It seem so many people on this thing have kids and are wasting money on a wedding instead of saving up for their children's college funds! Don't they want their kids to have a better life??

Its my best friend and I'm the maid of honor. Her Birthday was just 2 weeks ago and the wedding is on Saturday. I bought her a cute dress for her honeymoon and jewelry to wear on her wedding day. Should I get them a wedding album since they don't have one yet and they are putting the pics in themselves or is just money good enough for the wedding? HELP!!

I am the twin sister which has a twin brother. We have been close despite many things have happened in our lives that did distant us for awhile. He and I both married in same year, but his marriage failed. Horrible marriage...he found out the kids he was raising was not his. Anyways, I found a great girl for him thru a mutual friend. They engaged 1 1/2 ys later. This is her 1st marriage. I did not stand up in his 1st wedding due to I disliked his future wife(she forged my name on various checks, she stole things when my parents died..bad lady) well now my twin is getting married to new girl....and she has not asked me to be in wedding. He asked me when we went out to eat and she kicked him under table..she does not know I seen this! So, I could tell (obvious) she was not intending on asking. I am hurt since we USED to be close until she started controlling him. She has to be everywhere with him..he can never come to my house without her...etc...but a sister is a sister..we are twins!

My husband is Tibetan and I'm American. His culture has traditional dress for weddings, as does ours. We'd like to combine traditions but we don't want it to seem cheezy. We thought of the idea of me wearing my wedding dress and him wearing his traditional Tibetan groom's outfit, but we'd really both like to do both together (he bought me 2 Tibetan wedding dresses, traditional fur hat, silk shirts, belts, jewelry, hair accessories. I'd really love to wear those things and I'd also love to see him in a suit! But is it weird to change outfits? We'll probably end up having sort of 2 seperate "ceremonies" relating to the traditions as well. Even if you don't know anything about Tibetan wedding customs in particular, does anyone have any suggestions?
THANKS!

She wants to invite about fifty or sixty people, whom are just her friends. My fiance and I don't have alot of money. So should I pay for those fifty or sixty invitations she wants?

Is it a bad idea to invite an ex boyfriend to a wedding? I am very close with my ex, he was the last person I dated before I met my fiance. The breakup was mutual, and we still talk quite often and are close. He has told me he still has strong feelings for me and that there's no one else for him but me. I do not have any feelings for him and have made that clear. He has told me he respects my fiance and will be happy as long as I am. I am not sure my fiance would like the idea of me inviting him. Is it as complicated as I am making it?

I have been invited to my gf's, sisters wedding and they are German, with the wedding in Germany too. Being Scottish, all the weddings I have ever attended I have worn my full, formal, kilted attire....it makes the day complete. The thought of being in a suit makes me squirm, although everyone else will be wearing one (a suit).

So, whats the worst that can happen? I become more of a curiosity than the bride and she and my gf never talk to me again and her parents think i am so selfish for taking away their daughters big moment, or it all passes smoothly and without major incident.

If i were to wear it, should I tone it down a little and add an additional item to protect my modesty?

opinions please

Hi everyone! I need a few non-cliche recommendations for songs for the first dance as husband and wife. I've been to about 8 weddings and most of the couples use the same song over and over. So...if anyone has any good suggestions I'd greatly appriciate them! Thank you!

My wedding is next year in May, and we don't have a lot of money. Do you think I can pull off a decent wedding on a $6,000 budget. Do you think this is going to be a nightmare? I'm not one of those girls who has to have the top notch fancy wedding but I do want it to look as if I spent about $10,000 or more on it. What do you think?

My husband & I will be attending a wedding out of town & are paying for our hotel rm. For some very close friend's
daughter's wedding on:7/707.
I rec'd. a call from the mother of the bride wanting to know; if we would contribute to help the bride(her daughter) & groom pay for half of their "Wedding Favors"? I said yes.
I assumed the amt. for us would be nominal ! "These wedding favors/candy" (I believe with their Nm's., wedding dt.,to give to their wedding guest). Obviously cost $350.00 total. Because, I received an e-mail from the bride thanking us (in advance) for the $150.00 & an address where to send the check). -
My ?: Is it proper for any bride to request financial assistance from (non-immediate family member's)? The bride is an
"Event Planner" for a major restaurant chain. Lastly, how much should I spend on a wedding gift? Esp., since, they did not state..for the wedding favors in lieu of a wedding gift ! my email is: BRENDITA@HUGHES.NET Thank you for your reply!

My sister is getting married in september, (having a very beautiful fall wedding) and I am the maid of honor. I have been looking for a poem to read at her wedding (she doesn't want to stick with the common Bible readings) and havn't found anything that really is that good. I was wondering if anyone knew of a poem that described other people's love, or described a fall wedding. I've found all sorts of poems that describe love, but not from the pov of the 3rd person. Any suggestions?

I'm in a wedding and there will be no dinner provided for the reception. Only the wedding party and some close family will be provided dinner. Issues are starting like after the ceremony the guest will have to leave and come back. And other issues are some family wondering why there weren't invited to this special dinner. I'm just afraid that some people won't come back after they just found out they have to leave to get dinner then come back. I've never heard of a wedding with out food!! PLEASE HELP

My friend is getting married in 3 weeks, I'm her maid of honor. I have never been a moh before, so I'm not completely sure what all is expected from me. It seems that the bride has unreaslistic expectations for myself and the bridesmaids tho.

I have thrown the bridal shower, planned the stagette, spent hundreds of dollars on my dress & shoes, gifts, planning...etc. I have gone wedding dress shopping, and to fittings..etc. I have left work early to learn how to tie the train on her dress.

With Fathers Day coming up, she expects me to throw away my plans with my family to do hair trials.

The day before the wedding she wants us to take off work to set up the hall.

If we can't make it to do something, she acts all sad and upset and tries to guilt us into it.

Does she not realize that we have lives ASIDE from her wedding? We all have jobs, and families and school. She is a stay at home mom who is obsessed with this wedding.

Is she being selfish or am I?? How do I deal??

A woman at a dinner I was at the other night went ballistic when she overheard me saying that my parents and side of the family could not believe my sister was having children at her wedding -- and I was trying to figure out how best to help my sister set up a special table and have some babysitters on had to help out. The woman was irate that anyne would dare suggest that children / babies should not be at a wedding.

I explained to her that this would be a formal / white glove dinner reception at a very fancy site and you just can't expect toddlers to sit still for such a dinner and there is nothing else there to occupy their time -- plus dinner is at 8pm and the kids have to be up past midnight... not to mention the servers trying to navigate serving dinner / wine around little toddlers (all kids would be between 6 months and 5 years old... and there will be 13 babies / children...)

What do you all think about this topic?
