Do what you want. It's your wedding. My wedding was raisin and black, and the only person who liked it was me. I had to remind people that I'm the only one whose opinion mattered. So I'm telling you the same thing: Your opinion is the only one that matters.

The final answer should be yours! Do you like the combination? Then that's your answer! Our thoughts can give you ideas - good, bad or ugly - but in the long run you have to be happy. Yes, the pics may be a little on the washed out side, but you can easily break that up with flowers, and the way the pictures are staged. Tradition puts the bride on the 'girls' side, by why not switch and put your husband on the gals side and you on the guys side. Your white dress will play off the guys black or grey tuxes nicely, and with him in between you and the gals, there will be a nice contrast.
I do like the idea of giving the maids some sort of color with the ivory though - and not another neutral. If you want to try the sash use a bolder color - or a print even. Would it be possible to have the designer add a color element elsewhere, maybe a trim on the bodice?
Good Luck!

Absolutely gorgeous. Very classy. Go with it.
The ivory against the diamond white will be a lovely foil for the bride. I would not introduce any other colour into the bridemaids look. It would change the elegance of the ivory & the overall effect of the group.
I would keep the bridesmaids completely ivory but add some colour through their flowers. Keeping a very simple bouquette design I would choose a soft colour for the flowers.
Sometimes less is best.
Have a wonderful day.

You can totally make this work. Bring it together with a specialty linen that incorporates both white and ivory. If that doesn't appeal to you, I'd use white around the bridesmaids, either in the florals or some kind of trim on the dresses.
Good luck!

I think that would be confusing. It's too close in color. What about a warm butter yellow color or a soft pastel instead?
When I got married each dress (Watters & Watters) came in certain colors but there was always a wide selection. And silk taffeta DOES come in many colors, I guess it depends on your designers buyer.

Do the ivory with a colored sash and colorful bouquets. I saw a People wedding magazine and someone had the same scheme ivory bridesmaids with diamond white wedding gown the sashes were chocolate brown and the flowers were various shades of pink -- it flowed eloquently.
Remember its your wedding and as long as u r happy and understand why u like it versus not liking it, then u will never regret it!!
Best wishes!

My sister in law did it...basically women in white/ivory and men in black. It looked great--although I did think it was a little weird in the photos--she didn't stand out much at all--there was a white side, and a black side.
Maybe have the bridesmaids wear champagne--and they don't HAVE to wear silk taffeta....

One of the prettiest weddings I have ever attended had the bride in white, and her bridesmaids in white as well. It was gorgeous-even prettier than mine.
Yes, this sounds gorgeous, and you will be amazed at how pretty your wedding will be. The only reason I didn´t have this is because I just asked my bridesmaids to pick out a little black dress (which they were happy to do) and didn´t want them to have to buy a white dress (a bit impractical). But you go for it!

I agree. White and ivory will look like an error occurred somewhere. Put some color on the bridesmaids - pink, blue, something.

Ivory alongside white usually looks like a yellowed or dirty white.

Just make sure their bouquets are colorful and the bride's is white. It really doesn't matter these days you can do just about anything at a wedding ceremony. Formal rules aren't as rigidly applied.
Do what you want!
