She does know it is on the way eventually but I want to be smooth about it. She doesn't really wear jewelry that I can borrow. Thanks for the help on this one.

Ask her mother, she might know. That's what my husband did.

when my fiance proposed he had an idea, but it still ended up being too big. The typical size is a 6, most rings are originally made at this size. He bought mine as a 6, and we just had to go get it resized.

It was no big deal, only took an hour or so, plus it was fun to get to go in there with him and show off the ring and tell all the employees about our engagement since he had been working with them for a month designing the ring.

We ended up having to resize it to a 5, but it didn't mess up the detail or change the look of the ring at all. So don't worry about having the perfect fit right away!

i do not comprehend if this works for all women human beings, inspite of the indisputable fact that the ring finger on my good hand is practically the very similar length because the ring finger on my left hand (the only you're attracted to). when you're planning slightly extra ahead and also you've extremely funds, purchase her a hoop for her good hand. Take her with you, make it a fine looking, casual, "love present" journey. then you could both make know the ring length or ask the jeweler on the area what length that ring replaced into. no matter if the dimensions isn't a acceptable journey, it would want to nicely be a normal sizing. Getting relatives / pals to help swipe an acceptable ring or needle the dimensions out of her is an extra ordinary plan. we ladies might want to be extraordinarily sneaky with our girlfriends, extraordinarily if we adore her guy!

This is hard to say without showing you, but hold her left hand with fingers entwined. Feel how far your hands are spread apart around the ring finger and then try to size that.

OR, get a size 6 1/2 and make sure you can do free resizing if its the wrong size.

OR, better yet, I like the suggestion of checking her finger size while she's asleep, but this will only work if she is a deep sleeper.

Print out a ring sizer and put it on her finger while she's asleep. (Assuming she's not a light sleeper.) Here's a couple links for ring sizers:

Keep in mind it's better to get something a little larger than a little smaller. If it's larger they just cut it down to size, if it's smaller they have to stretch the ring which weakens the metal.

Good luck!

Generally speaking, people's ring sizes and their shoe sizes are usually very close. Check out her shoes, buy a ring in that size, and then just get it sized if it's too large/small.
Good luck with the proposal!

Measure her finger in her sleep. Get a string or something and put it in a loop, slip it over her finger and slowly tighten it to fit. Make sure you mark it with a pen or marker once it's fitted, so that when you slip it back off, you will know the size. Of course, doing it in her sleep is tricky, especially if she's a light sleeper.

if she has any rings at all put them on your wedding finger then when you shopping tell them where that ring sat. Then try on a few rings until one sits where the other one did. (can be any room in the store.) Once you find the ring they will put it on a sizing stick and you'll have her size. It's probably the most discreet way to do it.

Ummmm, when you're together, say watching tv on the sofa (I always play with my boyfriends hair & hands & stuff so this is what I'd do) and put a ring of yours on her finger? And maybe say "aww you have little fingers" That way you'd have an idea?? That's the least obvious way I could think of! Sorry! Good luck!!!!! xx

make a game of tieing a ribbon around her finger to "rind her of your love", then slide the ribbon of when finished marking the right size for her finger. A jewerly store can size this to a ring sizer.. Best wishes.

I don't have any real comments, but I wanted to say that if she doesn't have any rings of her own, well, I like the candy machine idea! The other ones... eh, I might guess the motive on (then again, I ALWAYS guess my presents from my husband.. he's not too subtle about hinting/planning surprises).

But the candy machine idea would be pretty cool if you're smooth about it. :)
