What is the average amount of money you would get as gifts with 100 guests at your wedding? I'm trying to figure out a plan to pay credit cards off and I'm wondering about what the wedding gift money will contribute...

By specs I mean what are the typical diameters of the invitation? What are the typical type of paper materials? Is there any embeveling? And most importantly, how is it made for RSVP use? I ask because I want to make my own custom design invites, but I want the typical size parameters to be used. If someone knows or knows somewhere online that has a picture of a standard RSVP wedding invitation, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I am planning a wedding where I do not want tons of children. Is it OK to limit the children invited to first cousins only? I am close with my first cousins but, do not want to extend invites to the children of everyone I know.

My brother is trying to get married in two months. They are worried about rain so are looking for an inside wedding. They are also on a tight budget though and are having around 175 people. Where do we go for a low budget but lots of people in a short amount of time>???? Please-someone help!!!

i'm getting married for the second time and my sis is making me feel gulity for not having her kids as bridesmaid and page boys. i have my daughter as my bridesmaid and she piles on the guilt saying that her daughter has never been a bridesmaid and the boys would like to. we want a small wedding with minium fuss and she knows this. Its getting to the point we seriously thinking of going away on our to do it.

I love a specifc dress and cant afford the $3900 price tag, i have found a dress make on ebay who is offering to make it. Do you think this is a safe option? She has a return policy and has said the fabric is the same as the dress in the picture just a little worried of the quallity. Thoughts or has anyone else done this?

My MOH (and bridesmaids) are throwing me a shower. It is going to be a surprise (I know I'm having it, don't know when or where). I am wondering if I can tell them an idea for a favour. My friend (and I've seen it here) didn't have favours but had a little note saying "A donation has been made in your name to XYZ charity." I thought (and think :Þ) it's a great idea. I was wondering: if you were a MOH or bridesmaid, would you be offended if the bride told you she thought this was a good idea for her shower? Should I not do that? I think it might be kinda rude, but I think it's a better use for money that would otherwise be spent on something that will most likely collect dust (if it's not just thrown away). On the other hand, it's not my money to decide what to do with....

Also, my fiance is helping to plan the shower, which he will be attending (his family's tradition, not my idea!). Should I mention it to him and have him tell my sister (MOH)?

I have a friend that I've been friends with since 3rd grade. In 7th grade her and her family moved far away. Since then we have kept in touch and talk on a regular basis. We see each other every two years or so. When we were little we use to talk about how we were going to be each others Maid of Honor. I am now 28 and 2 years ago she got married and asked me to be her Maid of Honor. I was a little surprised because so much time had passed I would have thought she would have chosen someone else. When I was 20 I met another girl who has been basically my best friend since. We lived together for 5 years and a have a wonderful friendship. She has helped me get through so many tough situations. I couldn't imagine getting married with out her right next to me. I am now engaged and have the dilemma of do I ask my best friend of 9 years or do I go with my childhood friend from 3rd grade. She kept her promise.....I feel almost inclined to have her has my maid of honor. suggestions?

my bf and i have been talking about marriage for a while as well as a wedding. i had a question about the guests at the wedding. there are a group of his high school girl friends that he obviously still talks to when he runs into them at the bar or other weddings we go to. well one of girls had a crush on him when we started dating 4 years ago and now that entire girl group is rude to me whenever they see me to the point where they say hello to him and turn their heads to me. (like high school) and it is plain as day so that he can see it. they have tried to tell him that i am a b**** because i never got to know them but to me, if they are his friends they should try getting to know me. although i have tried to get to know them but they dont care. is it wrong of me to say i dont want them at the wedding or should i swallow my pride since they are his old friends?

Hi, I am getting married in October and have paid a deposit on a cake but im having second thoughts because I am also having a Chocolate Fountain. I went over my budget a bit by getting The Riverdance to perform at the wedding which is setting me back the cost of the cake (£400), should I just use the deposit I have paid to get 1 tier of the cake made for me and my hubby to cut for the photos or should I just get the whole 4 tier cake, everyone only gets a small slice of the cake anyway so is it really worth it, I cant decide what to do.

I have asked a good friend to play a song for me during the wedding ceremony. Kind of like a performance, I just can' think of one HELP... I want to preposed to my girlfriend but I had a idea for the ring thats non-traditional. I wanted to get a ring with the center stone made of onyx. I like the black stone and thought it would be more original than the classic diamond center peice.

If your Husband had proposed with a stone other than a diamond how would you really feel?

I know some women dream of thier wedding day and the proposal and expect it to be perfect, I don't want to tarnish a memory but I want to see the thing I think are beautiful.

P.S. I'm not tring to get away with a cheap one either. I figured I'd get the band in platinum or some other expensive metel as to pay a traditional price.
