You need to be wary of the knock-off gowns being imported from China, but it doesn't seem as though this is one of them. Keep in mind that it will probably be a while for her to make the dress.
What you need to be VERY careful of is making sure that you are giving her the exact, correct measurements for the dress. She states in her policy that she will not accept returns for dresses that don't fit if the dress was made according the measurements provided. It is very difficult to measure yourself properly, and the form-fitting shape of this gown makes every single measurement all the more important.

For everyones general information almost ALL wedding gowns, both designer and rack gowns are indeed made in CHINA. The big designer labels are sewn in AFTER they reach the USA.. This 2 inch square of satin doesn't suddenly change the quality nor change the gown in any way except raise the price for those that are willing to pay it because it has a LABEL. Go for it the vendor may well be the producer for Sottero, if not they are able to give you what you want at a reasonable price and the feed back is good. Do check out the shipping costs though and know that it isn't outrageous before you commit.

Personally, I'm always spectacle of E-bay. I would see if you could find a local dress shop in your area, take the picture to them and then have them custom make the dress for you. You still would be saving a lot of money.
In addition, when you have a dress made you need to have multiple fittings and measurements taken. How is this person over E-bay going to do that?

Jessica,
granted that seller has 100% feedback, but i noticed
quite a few disturbing things about that seller.
"It is custom made to your measurements, and will be shipped to you in 8 to 10 weeks"
this pushes you past the deadlines to complain to ebay and PAYPAL should something go wrong.
the seller has many violations in her auctions too.
she is KEYWORD SPAMMING, selling REPLICAS and posting links to her OFF EBAY website,
"Return Policy:
If the gown is misrepresented in any way, does not look like the replica pictures"
"I do not have pictures of the replica yet,"
the problem here is she has NO PICS of her replica to compare the gown to. that could let her off the hook possibly as far as filing for a SNAD complaint.
"Your money will be refunded minus ebay listing fees, paypal fees,"
this is NOT ALLOWED. she has to return ALL your money, minus the original shipping costs.
"Refunds will be processed within 14 to 28 days of the seller receiving the gown back to confirm complaint."
there is NO EXCUSE to not refund the day the gown is returned!
and there is always the POSSIBILITY that this IS a CHINESE knock off. not saying it is, but as many here know, a seller can SAY whatever they want in the item description. just becuase she claims she makes them herself, doesn't mean it's the truth.
look at the website she talks about in her auctions.
sorry,
but i wouldn't touch this one with a 10 foot pole!
if you insist on buying a wedding gown on ebay, ONLY pay thrrough PAYPAL with it being funded by your CREDIT CARD!
then if you have problems and ebay and/or PAYPAL do not find in your favor, you can call your CREDIT CARD company and file for a CHARGEBACK.
be very careful here and have a great wedding day!

Very risky. If you do decide to go through with this, get your undergarments on (slip and bustier) and then take measurements. You may want to order a size larger just in case... that way you can take it to a tailor if it is too big. If it is too small, it is very difficult to add fabric.
Also, ask her how it is packed for shipping since there is no shipping insurance.
FYI: you can take the picture to a local tailor who can make the dress for you.
Good Luck!

I haven't, but I'm about to buy my dress off ebay. Just make sure they have a high feedback score. Read all the buyer's comments. That would be my only advice. I plan to get mine off ebay because I can't afford an expensive gown, but I want something beautiful. Plus they make it to your measurements.

Your wedding dress is the most important dress you will ever buy. I think you should go to a bridal store, get fitted and get the perfect dress for you. If you have someone online make it for you, if you it doesn't fit or whatever, can you guarantee to get it in time for your wedding. I bought my wedding dress for $400 at david's bridal and it was the most perfect dress. If you go to davidsbridal.com they have some beautiful wedding dresses at reasonable prices, they can give you a location nearest you.

read her feedback, if it's got a large amount of positive feedback, than go for it. especially since she has a return policy if you don't think it looks enough like the original. that is a really good deal!! i might order my dress from ebay, if i don't make it. the quality should be fine, just check the feedback., if it weren't good quslity, most likely it wouldn't be being sold.

This is a dress you want to have right. I'd choose someone locally. You will have several fittings before it's all said and done and that's hard to do if there is a great distance.
