My wedding is in September and I am lucky to have two great dads in my life. My step-father who has been a loving parent and my biological father who played a major role in my life. I decided to walk with them both side by side down the aisle. As far as the father/daughter dance goes, I will dance half a song with my bio-dad and the rest of the song with step-dad. However, I am having trouble finding a cute romantic song that expresses my love and gratitude. Can anyone help me with a nice slow song to dedicate to both of my loving fathers?

I'm curious.... I heard a lot of my gf's girl friends saying that it is considered bad luck / bad omen to forge ahead a wedding plan when the father of the bride dies...Why?

I have also seen some horror movies regarding this topic where there was supposed to be a wedding but then the dad dies and they are haunted?

I have always wanted to go to a beach soemwhere and get married. I feel like all the people who say they have done this are older couples, 2nd weddings, etc. Not young couples, marrying for the 1st time...

My fiance and I have been dating 2 years and we just got engaged. Well 4 days after my fiance proposed and we announced it, his brother's girlfriend proposed to him. I am happy for them but don't you think they could have waited. On top of everything else, she is still married to someone else! Is it so wrong to have at least a couple of weeks to tell everyone before they got engaged?

We need to block some rooms for our wedding and I've never blocked any before. Are there any things to keep in mind to get a good rate? How many rooms will they let you block? Do you need to give some kind of committment on the number of rooms you'll actually use? Thanks for your help!

Say a bride (speaking in general) wants to wear sleeves or a colored dress, most people will say to her "wear something white or ivory with minimal colored accents, otherwise you'll regret your choice". If she wants something other than a sitdown or buffet dinner or maybe she doesn't want to serve dinner at all. Any number of choices that stray from the "comfortable" traditional.

If the choices reflect the tastes and personalities of the couple, why do random strangers (and even some guests) feel it is their right and business to judge what they do? They would take great offense if they were in her shoes and received the same comments but it doesn't occur to them how rude they are being to her.

On the same token, would you refuse to attend the wedding of someone whose tastes were vastly different than yours simply because they were non-traditional (but non-offensive)?

In reading online chat boards such as the Knot and Wedding Channel, most people seem to have no clue of a what a dessert reception consists of and most have never seen one. Where I was raised (but not getting married), people would look at you weird if you did anything but a dessert reception. And even 15-20 yrs ago and prior, that was all that alot of people did. Even turn of the century weddings (in movies and real life) never had a full dinner. Also, those same folks suggest serving full appetizer spreads in addition to dessert, but fail to realize that once you start adding anything beyond cheese and crackers, it is no longer just desserts so you can't call it a dessert reception on the invite.

Are they really that rare or do people just have a certain mindset that a reception must be done one way and anything that strays from that one way is bizarre and wrong? Even though those same people would have no difficulty planning a dessert party for any other type of event?

Me and my boyfriend have been dating exclusively for almost 3 years. We have talked about marriage, and he does want to get married someday, but he says I'm wishing my life away when I say I'm ready to be engaged/get married. It's not the ring that I want, it's the fact I want to be HIS fiance and wife. I've told him that and still he insists that I'm rushing things. What can I do to help him see how I feel and what I want?

Have some clothing items that I will never wear again... prom dresses, almost new jeans, shirts, shoes, etc. Where do you think I would get the most money for that kind of stuff? Any other ideas for selling?

We need to make some cash for our wedding this July since we're paying for it ourselves... and I need to get rid of a bunch of stuff that I won't ever use again and that is taking up space in my house.

Thanks in advance! :)

I prefer to keep them all titled Bridesmaids or all Maid of Honor because I love them all the same. My sister, sister in law, and best friend of 11 years are in my wedding this June. People keep asking me who my maid of honor is and I tell them I don't have one. Couple of people looked at me strange. Is this really a problem? My fiance is only having his brother in the wedding as the best man. I really do not feel like picking on of my girls to be the maid of honor when they are really all maid of honors to me. What do you think?

I ordered a wedding ring online and there are some faint reddish spots on the white gold. What are these? Do they come off? They are barely noticeable, but I know that they're there and I think they would drive me nuts. I don't want any flaws on a new ring.
