I am 36 years old. I got married and had the normal big, church wedding at 19 years old! TRUST ME... It is not all that! I am now getting re-married and the beach or vegas sounds sooooo awesome. It is because it will be more memorable for Elvis to walk me down the isle in Vegas or to be romantic on the beach! I say go for the beach thing, don't be traditional like everyone else! If I had to do it over again it would be something else besides a big wedding in a church!

A wedding is your special day so you should do it the way you have dreamt. It's so common for young couples to go off and elope here in New Zealand these days because it's cheaper and it take all the stress out of organising a wedding. And when you come back you can still have a reception with all the people you would like so they can share in your happines, you can still have a ckae, speeches and a celebration which is what it's all about!!

I wish that I had decided to elope and Im 28 yo. Most women dream about a big traditional wedding, I always dreamed about eloping to Ireland and getting married on the cliffs by the oceans. With 1 and half weeks till my traditional wedding, Im regretting letting my fiance talk me into this. Too many things to have to worry about. If you want a beach side wedding then do it!!

I lived in Northern California. This was very common out there because of the fine weather. It's romantic and done by couples of all ages. Nothing is more beautiful than an outdoor wedding near the water--unless it's the mountains with a lake! You only marry once, go for it.

My cousin and her husband got married in Fiji and it was beautiful. It is the first and hopefully only marriage for both. They were 24 years old at the time and wanted to avoid the hassle of planning a wedding as well as the stress. We all had a party for them when they came back. More and more couples are doing destination weddings. Not just second timers and older couples.

I have been married three times.. if you like to be simple go for the eloping. The cheapest way to go! I have yet to have a real wedding.. I feel as if you love the person you are with then you don't need to have an extravegent wedding. I am going to be with the person I love no matter what!

My mum went to St Lucia and saw about 30 weddings happen over a two week period, virtually all of them were young people. I went to Jamaica and saw 5 weddings in 2 weeks, all of them were young people. I think you've been mis-informed, many couples choose to marry in destination weddings, I wish you the best of luck.

Getting married is "personal". How you do it should be special to you and your mate. There are sooo many reasons why its better to elope,This way you don't have to worry about everyone else and how they think things should or should not be done, you only have to please you and yours. The end result is you will be married just the same, you have had no stress, or minimal, to heck with what everyone else thinks and have YOUR DAY....Congrats and best wishes

Having my family and friends share my wedding day was what made it special. Seeing the love and joy on everyone's faces is a memory I'll never forget. I wouldn't elope.
