If I were you, I would be mad too! I think it's only obvious that she did it just to steal your thunder. The reason I think that is because you would think she would have waited until after her divorce was final and they had been dating for a while and also you would think she would wait for HIM to propose... since all that happened I think she did it just to get some focus on her too. Is she the type who always wants to be the center of attention? If so, then yeah, I would say she definitely did it just because you two got engaged. You can't change the past and you can't change what that beyotch did, but you do have every right to be mad about it. What a trashy thing to do...

You have every right to be mad. That was your moment and she stole it!!! I think that's rude. She probably just couldn't stand to see you getting all the attention. She could've waited for the excitement to die down a little bit from your engagement and then announce hers. Don't even worry about it. You can't let her ruin your excitement. While you have every right to be upset, don't let the negative feelings take over your positive ones. And especially do not let her turn the engagements into a competition. I am very happy for you and I wish you the best of luck! Congratulations!

I would say you have a right since she is still married, it would have been one thing is she weren't and they didn't know about your engagement, I would watch out for her in the long run, she is the the old snake in the grass
it would be one thing if she werent married and they waited a few months before getting engaged, good luck with everything

happened to me too, my brother proposed to his wife maybe 6 months after we were engaged and had our wedding date set but then picked a wedding date 3 weeks before ours. My grandma was mad for me but I just saw it as a full month of partying and 20 years later we are all still married and it doesn't matter. the answers who say she's trying to upstage you may be right but I would counsel that her motivation doesn't matter, just your reaction. Act generous and genuinely happy and maybe eventually you will feel that way. You'll probably be married long before she gets her divorce!

On my gosh girl.. I know how you feel. My fiance had been planning our engagment for months with the whole family knowing about it. About a week before he was to propose, his sister started saying she thought her boyfriend (of only 3 months) was going to propose. He proposed the day before.. My fiance was upset because he felt they planned it to put the attention on them. I was upset too but have since gotten over it. I recommend that you set a date and move on with your plans and keep telling yourself over and over again everytime someone mentions their engagment that life is to short to sbe angry over the petty things!!
Congrats to you and your fiance!

Don't be mad. All your relatives probably noticed ho quickly they jumped in to steal the glory right after you got engaged and they're probably all shaking their heads and thinking how foolish your sister in law is acting. Take it with grace and know you're entitled to brag and tell everyone about your engagement and who cares about them.
You have more important things to worry about, it's not worth your time.

so she's a bigamist, eh? tell her her marrying him would be illegal. ecause it is..... and i do believe you have the right to be mad. they should have waited until she was divorced properly to get engaged and anounce it. sounds to me like she wanted it because you had it, so she got engaged, and told people to get the attention you're getting.......be mad, i know i would be!

She's a very insecure person who, rather than sharing in your joy, she had to top it. And she's still married????? Is she a ***** or what?? Congratulations to you and your fiance.
