i was wondering how much it would cost to get married in the court house in california? we just want to make it official, then we will have the big wedding when we get the money. is that right to do things like that?

In May it will be 5 years that I have been with my boyfriend. I am 22 and told him about six months ago that by time I am 26 I want to be married. I don't care if we have a big wedding, but I want to married to him. I thought it was fine because two years ago he asked me if i would marry him (no ring involved) in the future and I said yes. Now about a week ago he tells me that he never wants to get married. He says that he has seen and heard about so many dysfunctional marriages that he doesnt see the point. But how can he compare us with them? What do I do or not do? I can not see myself in the future without him. He wants children someday and I told him that I will only have children if I am married. What will happen? Please help me. Thanks

My boyfriend proposed to me Christmas. He is in the Navy. I graduate from college in May 2008. I wanted to get married in August 2008 before Law school. My family keeps saying after law school...but gosh thats a whole 2-3 years later....My fiance will be fine with whatever, but I just dont want to make my family upset. They think it will mess up my career thinking I wont go to law school if I get married before. What do you think I should do?

I find myself being really jealous about others when I find out they are engaged (like family and friends) or seeing the rings on stranger's fingers. I know it's because I want to get married but my boyfriend and I don't have the money to do it right now even though we know we will sometime in the next few years. I feel like I am Cinderella because my fiance's MIL and two SIL have tried to treat me like S%$t since they first saw me. What started it was when one of my SIL said she didn't like me because I read a letter. Bull@#$%. We have been waging war ever since. From them taking me to court. To me taking them to court. From me boosting a friend to beat them up. To vicious rumors and lies. To me calling CPS on them. To them calling CPS on me. All of us have engaged in dirt with each other but what is hurting me is that my fiance' is the blacksheep of the family and he has developed the NO BACK-BONE syndrome. They talk down to him in his face and his mother and sisters refuses to engage with his son which is also my son. Even through all this he still jumps when they say jump. Its only after three years of me b&%$##*@ he has finally stood up. This is hurting him. AND THEY KNOW IT. Because of him pleading with me, I've chilled out, but their still at it. I want this to end NOW!

There are so many gorgeous gowns out there waiting to be worn a second, third time around. Is it bad luck to wear a stranger's pre-loved gown especially if the marriage has failed or is failing? Would you be comfortable wearing one if you were looking for a gown?

Hello, I recently got engaged and am very happy. I have been with my fiance for years and am estatic to be marrying him. I have one big problem though.
I don't have any friends that are close enough to be a bridesmaid, let alone a maid of honor. My family is very small and I spend most of my time with them or my fiance...so I don't know who will be in my wedding.
I don't want to look dumb and not have any bridesmaids. Is there a way to get around this? Any ideas? Should I try to make friends quick before I get married just so they can be in my wedding with me? I feel so pathetic!
