I am only have 1 bridesmaid/maid of honor, my sister. She is going to be wearing a cornflower blue dress with white trim. We are having a really hard time finding shoes. I don't like the idea of blue shoes, I thought maybe a matte silver would be good, but we are having trouble finding any that she can wear. Do you think it would be okay for her to wear white? I would like to put baskets in the bathroom at a wedding. I have a few ideas, (nail file, gum, hand lotion, etc.) But has anyone seen something really unique and cute in a basket? Any ideas would be great. I am looking for mens and womens bathroom ideas. Any help would be great.

I'm on a tight budget for my wedding in July 2008. I have been looking for very cheap bridesmaid dresses, since I plan to spend more money on my gown and photographer. I was told by a few people that bridesmaids pay for their own dresses, however both I and my mother think that it would be rude to ask them to. I have found a great bridesmaid dress online for only $50 that I would like all of them to wear.
Should I ask them to buy their own? And if so, how should I ask so I don't sound rude?

We have a great relationship, yet no proposal. Do I wait till he proposes or just start planning the wedding. We do plan to get married because we've talked about it way before we had our daughter. HELP!

She is out drinking all the time while her Fiance is working, she doesn't hesitate to point out every man she has ever slept with and I know that some of them are since they have been together. Her reputation around town is that of a permiscuous women and she cannot hold a job. She has a Daughter of her own whom she leaves with the Father all the time lately, it seems. Her Fiance is sure that once they get married, she will settle down. I think she will just get worse. Her own Father is sure she will just destroy this man she is marrying. I like both the parents but there is a lot of disfunction involved.

We will be getting an invitation. I would never do anything to ruin her special day.

Is it acceptable to go to this wedding knowing how I feel? I have never been to a wedding I felt was doomed from the start. I would love to see her mature and make this union work.

My fiance and I have been engaged for two years. He just told me that he had been cheating on me with a coworker for two months and she is now pregnant and keeping the baby. We are supposed to get married in August and practically everything is already done. I still want to marry him, but should I really? I want the other girl out of our lives. My wedding was a last minute thing. So, I only had my maid of honor and my daughters in the wedding. When we all went to get our dresses, they only came in pettie sizes. My sister-in-law is like very, very, big and there was no dress for her. That's why I didn't have her as a brides maid. I wanted all the girls to have the same kind of dress. It's been two years since the wedding and she stopped talking to me since then. Soon I found out that she was upset and talking bad about me, because she wasn't in the wedding.

I am getting married in July, and I am desperate to find a product (gel, spray, mousse, etc.) and a curling iron or hot rollers that will actually make my hair hold the curl for the rest of the day.

I have tried both hot rollers and a curling iron and then sprayed the curls with hair spray, but it never holds like I wish it would.

Any suggestions??

I posted a question a while back about purchasing a prom dress instead of a "real wedding dress". I tried the dress on for my fiance the other night (I don't follow that tradition). I got no reaction. I would take it he doesn't like the dress. What do you think?

I have looked at dozens of websites to try and find a place where I can rent floral china (specifically tea cups, saucers and dessert plates) for my wedding. Since my fiance and I am unable to pay for a full sit down dinner I am having a tea-style reception, with punch and tea and tea sandwiches and cake. Since we are going easy on the cost of the food by going to a tea theme I feel I can afford to splurge just a little bit and rent floral china, unfortunately I haven't found a place to do that with. Any ideas? We are having out wedding in the Pasadena CA area.

My boyfriend is 26 hes a 1st LT we have been talking about getting married because he might be getting stationed in Germany! So when we were in Indiana at Christmas with his family he said we will go to the court house if I get the job because I wont go without you. But now it looks like he is going to be getting the job and it stresses me out and scares me cause he will be gone for 2 years. When he told me I stayed strong and I was kidding and I said you cant go without me and he said well you cant go. So I dont know if he is just saying that or if he is going to propose and hes just trying to throw me off. Please help. Let me know what you guys think! Thank you

I'm sure I'm not the only one losing their mind over their MIL but I don't know how to deal with her.
I gave in and took some friends that I wasn't super close with off my gues list to let her have some more of her family, now I've stopped and my fiancee and I agreed not to let her invite her 3 aunts that neither of us know and she is angry.

Another time she asked what I was doing with my hair, I said I wasn't sure, probably do it myself due to having to pay for that part myself. She asked what if her hair dresser would do it for free and I said that would be great. I assumed it was an offer but did mention it for a couple months. Now, my fiance has asked her about it and it turns out that she was just talking with nothing to back it up. She also said "well she probably would have done her hair... If she had been invited to the wedding"

Like I said I am crunching the guest list and don't feel it's necessary to invite her hair dresser.

Am I being unreasonable or is she?

My mother, MIL and maid of honor through me a surprise bridal shower for me and invited a lot of people. When they planned this they knew it would not be a gigantic wedding and now I'm feeling guilty that I can't invite all these women to the wedding, and am considering taking off people I'd like but were not invited to the bridal shower off the list to invite these women?
I was so glad to have all of these women there and so grateful but many of them I didn't know and my hall can only hold 110 people and I've already limited the number of my friends due to inviting my GIGANTIC family (6 siblings on each side plus spouses and older cousins and spouses)

Is it Wrong of me to leave my friends on the guest list who weren't at the shower and leave those my Mother and MIL invited that I don't know off the guest list?
